Rachels Challenge By: Alejandra Sanchez

Rachel’s Challenge Assembly

Going to that assembly really touched my heart because 4 of my family members have died recently. And one of them was a really close cousin. He has 13 years old and about to turn 14. He had many friends and was loved by many people. But yet he felt unneeded. So one day he decided to shoot his self. It was all over the news and we later found out from another one of my cousins he had been texted by him right before he killed him self. In the text he talked about how he didn’t feel needed. And didn’t want to be in this world anymore.
It was scary knowing how he killed him self and I had nightmares for weeks. The image of him taking his dads shot gun, sitting on the flour and sticking his toe where your fingers meant to go. Just so he could pull the trigger. Replayed in my mind over and over. And I’m that his father has feeling the same way maybe even worse. On account that he was the one that came home to find the body of his dead son laid across the flour smothered in blood with his shoot gun next to his.
At his funeral family and a lot of his loving classmates and friends came we were all crying. And every weekend we go to the cemetery and bring him fresh flowers.
