"Metaphor Madness" by Mariana Martinez

My Life Is a Rainbow

My life is a rainbow. The rainbow has its ups and downs. I have my ups and downs to everyone has ups and downs. When I make mistakes I slide down the rainbow very slowly. But when I fix my mistakes, or do something good ,or better I move up the rainbow. The rainbow is filled with joy. It is bright and it stands out. The rainbow has many moods. Each color of the rainbow represent a different mood. When I'm sad I'm blue, when I'm happy I am yellow.

My last day at riverbank was really sad . I went down the rainbow very fast. I was upset because I was leaving my friend. I knew that I would not see them again. But I was excited to see a new place. When I got home from school I was upset, but then I saw boxes in which things were being packed. At that moment I felt scared and sad as if I was going to cry. I didn't want to cry, so I didn't cry.

I was blue, sad. I went down the rainbow in a very fast speed that I couldn't stop. When I tried to stop I went even faster down the rainbow. I wanted to hide. I was becoming a rainbow. I was hiding where nobody could see me. I was dark blue with tears coming down my eyes as we left California. My friends were blue to we were three big rainbows.

Life Is like a game of Football By. Spencer Prestwich

Life is like a game of Football. One second you are sitting and waiting to make that perfect Play. But when you hear hike run as fast as you can and dont let the defense take you down. If you let them bring you down do not let them do it again, If you dont succeed at first try and try again. you may not always make the perfect play but you should always do your best.

"My life is a long car ride." When you are young you are always stuck in the same place, and when you are in a car you are stuck, you cant get out unless you unlock the doors and drop and roll, you will have to stay there until you can finally get out, the whole point of that sentance is that when you finally to the point when your parents want to let you free, that is when the car ride ends and you are finally on your own. But it is so thrilling because you never know where you are going to end up in the end.

Well sometimes during long car rides you have to just sit and wait to see what is going to happen, and at times it can get really really boring to the point where you get mad and are wondering when you are finally going to be able to be free, but then sometimes it gets really really exciting and fun and you love it so much. My life is like a long car ride because it is so thrilling cause you are still stuck and choosing where you are going to end up in the end when you are really young, and you get to see life pass you by as if you were looking out of a window, and you get to choose when you are going to be free, but you always have to make sure to choose at the right time.

Many peoples lifes are different but mine is a long car ride, cause I always have my times where I am mad or I am really bored, and those times can be when you have nothing to do at all and are just stuck sitting in the same place and dont know what to do but sleep, but at other times you see knew stuff and make knew friends or do something really really exciting and those times are like when you see something out the window and its something you have seen for the first time, and that can be very exciting. Well I guess all I am saying is that peoples lifes are different and are different things but my is a long car ride.

Life is a boat on the open sea. Sometimes life is great and you are floating with the sun shining down on you. Other times it can be really rough, not knowing what to do because their is a huge storm tossing and turning. You are only left with hope that you will finally reach the shore at the end. It is a journey, safe when you have a map. However you don't always have a map to follow. It can be really dangerous if you are in uncarted waters. Even if it is scary it is an adventure!
I have to make some really hard decisions right now. One will lead me into the safe waters that I know and I will have a lot smaller problems. The other choice will take me to the uncharted waters. It might be a grand adventure that I am not sure I want to embark on right now. Most of the choices I have made in the past have sailed my boat to the safe waters.
Life is a boat. When we were born we set sail and when we die it is when we have reached the shore and the end of our journey. No one is perfect and can always stay in the easy path, everyone has to take chances at times. Sometimes the dangerous waters are the ones that you learn the most lessons from. You have to take risks sometimes and just see what happens!

"Metaphor Madness" by Courtney Denning

Life is a rollarcoaster. It has its ups and downs. It is thrilling and exciting yet scary at the same time. It takes unexpected turns, sometimes your world turns upside down. Never wanting it to end, bringing a new experience everyday. At first you're scared, but once your experience starts on it, you're longing for more.
When I was six years old my aunt and uncle got married. I was so excited because I had already grown to love my new aunt. Their wedding was beautiful and I was extremely happy for them. I got to wear a beautiful white dress with purple flowers spread throughout the skirt. The next few months after their wedding were just wonderful. My aunt and uncle moved in to the basement apartment of our house and everything seemed to being going perfect. Everyone in my family was well and happy. Until the day my great grandfather died. He was my best friend. I had a great relationship with him and took it very hard when he passed away. I have so many great memories with him. After his death my life seemed to be falling apart. No one in my family was in high spirits anymore and everyone seemed to argue all the time. In that same year I had gone from being the happiest in my life to being the saddest in my life. It was a real turning point in my life.
This period of time in my life made me realize that life really is a rollarcoaster. In less than a year my life had gone from being really high then dropping really low. It took and unexpected turn and turned my world completely upside down. I didn't know how I was going to get through that time, but thankfully I did. That was a rough and scary part of the rollarcoaster, which I still am on today. I know I will hit another scary part at some point in my life. But for now, I'm just enjoying the ride and having fun.

"Metaphor Madness" by Adam A

My life is a chess game.
It is very confusing and complicated.
If you don't know how to play, you'll never win.
Each move you make is a decision or an act,
And sometime you have to make tough decisions.
It can get really frustrating when things aren't going your way,
When your loosing all your pieces.
Each of your pieces are things that you can do.
Each of your opponents pieces are obstacles that get in the way.
You have to plan out how your going to win.
And if you don't, winning will be very hard.
There will be times where they make it easy for you to win.
But sometimes you don't see it or you miss it.
You only have to play with the same person once if you won,
But then you might have to play with someone else.
But if you lose, you might not get a second chance.

My Life!

My life is like a road with a dead end!

It go's on but has a few bumps along the way.

You can't just get in the car and drive past it.

There will always be curves and swerves.

But I always find a way to get over them.

sometimes you get into a crash.

You can't go back and drive better, or try and avoid it.

You just have to learn from your mistakes.
life has its hard ships and i just have to get over them.
Lifes not all that easy, you always have your challenges.
Theres obstacles along the way, and there not always fun.
Some times they can be hard to get over.
I have to do it becuse if I don't it slowes me down.
I get in fights with my family and friends,
and I can't go back and wish i hadn't.

My Life!!!

My life is a book written in pen.

Once you write it you cant go back and erase it.

There is other characters but they don't know the real you.

You can flip the pages but you never know what comes next.

There is always a climax so you cant stop reading.

Then it will slow down.

It will sadly come to an end!

But then your book will surprise you and become amazing once again...

Well there is so many things, from friends to boys.

Because once I say something I cant erase it from some ones

mind especially if it was hurtful.

People may think they know me but there is always something hiding,

something I wont tell anyone.

I don't trust anyone.

I try to avoid the drama or fights but as I move on (if I can)

I never know there might be a horrible fight in the future.

Sometimes I do fun things like go on vacation, or just chill with friends.

It seems like its too fun and you want more.

Some sad things happened family members died.

People really close to me disappeared.

It seemed like there was no other option but then to sit and

dread the sad moments.

But just then I did new things and I met great people.

I realized everything is okay!!!

Metaphor Madness By Andrew Makian

Life is skiing. You first have to climb up a hill at some point to go back down. Sometimes when you climb you slip and fall, but you have to get back up and keep going. Life isn't always perfect. You have bad days when you feel you are falling down the hill. There are some days when you feel very good. That is like reaching the top of the hill and are about to ride down. You can't always be going down the hill because at one point you need to climb it again after you go down.

Theres a lot of things that can make me happy and there is also things that can make me sad. When I win my basketball or soccer games I feel great and like I'm on top of a mountain. When I lose my games I feel mad and sad at the same time. You need to forget what happened and keep doing it until you succeed. You can't learn to ski on your first try. You have to practice until you get the hang of it. Thats how life is. If you fail at something then get back and do it again. D0n't give up when you fall down. Just try your hardest and at the end it will finally pay off

Methaphor Madness By Dallas Kunkler

Life is a cookie, its always alright then you get to the chocolate parts. Life is good, and it has its up and downs, then theres the best parts of life. A cookie has its best parts, and is usually good, and then you get sick of it. Maybe you dont want a chocolate chip cookie, maybe your sick of it, it starts to taste bad. They both have good and bad things to them.

One time I liked my cookie, it was great. Everything was going good, when I dropped my cookie. My dad was going back to Florida for Law School, and I wouldnt see him for a couple months. I also hadn't talked to any of my close friends for a while. I felt all alone, and angry and stuff, I dont really remember. Then I had the best part of a cookie I've ever had. I realized that cookies are supposed to be enjoyed. So I enjoy my cookie everyday now. I love my cookie.

Cookies are really good, they take certain ingredients to make a certain cookie. Just like people have certain personalities, and charastics. Cookies are sometimes bad, usually good, and then theres a couple good parts. Life isnt always great, it usually is, and sometimes something good happens to you. Life is a cookie.

Metaphor Madness by Quinne Christison

"My life is a Candystore." There are so many options and it can be confusing at which one you should choose. You may feel like a certain candy, but it may end up making you sick later on. You could want something really badly, but then you could see something else you really want too. Life is unpredictable. You could think your getting chocolate with almonds, but in the end it's just chocolate.
When I was about 9 or 10 years old I got into a bad friend group. They did bad things and they just weren't very nice people. I had to make a choice of whether I wanted to get new friends or stick it out with my other friends. I was scared because I didn't know if people would accept me into their friend group, but I decided to start branching out to other people. I occasionally talked to my other friends, but not as much anymore. One of my friends who had become a bad influence on me talked to me about why I wasn't hanging around them as much anymore. I told her the truth. She didn't agree with me, but she let me do what I wanted to do. I did finally get into a better friend group and we are still good friends right now. I'm glad I changed friends groups because the person I am today was affected by them and I wouldn't be who I am right now if it weren't for them.
This story relates to the metaphor, "My life is a Candystore." It might not be chocolate with almonds, but it could end up tasting way better. You may think you want skittles or something like that, but you can't see into the future and you may enjoy a sucker more later on. If I had stayed with that other friend group I may not be who I am today. My old friends were like eating sour candy. It tastes good at first, but it starts to hurt the inside of your mouth later. My friends now are like chocolate. They are always sweet!

Metaphor Madness By Devin Bryner

Life is a basketball game. One second you're ahead and doing fine, then the next, it feels like there is no way you can win. Sometimes you do, other times you don't. No matter what, though, you always try and always do your best. It is also wild. There are things that are obviously going to happen. There are things that you thought would never happen. You never know how it will turn out, though. That's what makes it fun.

When I was about eight years old, I thought life couldn't be better. I lived in a good town in North Carolina. I had friends, I had a good family, and I still lived with my dad. Then, one day, the unimaginable happened. For reasons unknown to me, we had to move. I remember my mom saying that my dad would be coming later, and that we would all meet up once we got there. That didn't make me feel any better. I still had to leave my friends and the only house I could ever remember living in. What made it worse was when we arrived. I found out we would be living with my grandma and grandpa, which wasn't too bad, but I found out that my dad had actually stayed back home. A year later (because North Carolina law said that they had to be separated for a year) they got divorced.

Later in life, I found out that it wasn't too bad being here. I eventually made friends, found teachers that I really liked, and I was closer to the rest of my family. Now, my family comes over every Saturday and we all just play and have a good time. My dad also calls us almost everyday, and we get to see him a couple times a year. I found out that I actually really like it here, even though my dad didn't live with us. I still live with my grandparents here in Utah, and I still miss my dad, but because we moved here, I have had some of the best experiences of my life. I guess that just shows that life really is a basketball game.

Life is the weather.
Life is sometimes good just like the weather is sometimes sunny.
Life is sometimes boring just like the weather is sometimes cloudy
Life is sometimes sad just like the weather is rainy.
Life is sometimes exciting just like the weather is stormy.
Life is always something and so is the weather.
The weather is most always a mystery just like life is most always a mystery.

Metaphor Madness by Madi Muir

Life is a roller coaster...

With lots of twists and turns, once u think your doing something good and think that its being done right... boom!... it turns left (I understand that u may not know what I meant by that) it is unpredictable and each time for everyone it seems different, different experiences, different view points, and different outlooks, nothing ever happens the same exact way twice with the same exact reaction.

Life and roller coasters both have high rises in happiness and then an extreme drop in mood, with unpredictable surroundings that had caused it, just like how a roller coaster rises and falls constantly to different effects that were wanted. Things can be colorful with a bright future or they can be dark and unfortunate it all depends on the surroundings.

Metaphor Madness by Toren Wallengren

Life is music. Music is life. Either way, it can be about whatever you want it to be. No one can decide for you when it comes to writing a song or a life. They will ultimately come a decision that is hard to make, or a part that is complicated or dull. We all have moods and stories, we all have feeling and time. Human nature has a natural beat based on how you feel. It shows too, because when you look at a person like you listen to a song, you can tell how they feel based on looks. As you do judging a song by it's tonality. Life and music directly relate to each other as well. Music gets you through life. Life is music.

My first day at Disneyland in my life, and I was crying. I wasn't even on a ride. Disneyland just decorated so well, that it actually got to my head. I was in line for Indiana Jones Adventure. It was the scariest thing ever! I just wanted to get out of there! My dad eventually convinced me to ride it. The actual ride, was not as scary as the line. There was so much going on during all of it and I couldn't keep track of it if it was scary! But, I did love it. It got me into design and tricks of the eye. It also showed the value of sound in certain settings. So I rode it again, and again, and again, and again! I figured out little details of the ride that make it what it is.

This was a turning point in my life. I could recognize the importance of music and sound. I realized the connection between music and life is very similar and that they affect each other in many ways. If you're depressed, you write a sad song. If you're exuberant, you write a happy-go-lucky song! There is also so much to learn in both subjects. Life has lessons needed to be learned. Music has to be taught and figured out too, just like life. People also make careers out of music. Their life is based solely on music. It works too. They're happy and a lot of the time rich! Music is life. Life is music.

My Life Is A Roller Coaster

The firt hill is always the highest and the most agonizing, the tension keeps buliding and your just waiting to see what comes next. When you finally reach the top u start to get really nervous, you start to realize that your getting ready to go down this huge hill and sometimes you don't know whats gonna happen. When you finally start going down that hill you get a huge adrenaline rush......................................Then all of a sudden the ride is over........at least you think so until the ride starts ALL over again and you feel a total rush of deja vu.
Just about three months ago I dealed with the hardest and most tragic thing ever. My step-father of two months commited suicide on December 3, 2008 it was the hardest thing my family and I have had to deal with. My mother was a total mess, my brother (his son) wouldnt eat or talk to anyone, And me well i was a mess as well as my mom. Even my dog Rosco knew somone was missing.

Life is a rollercoster!! It has its ups and downs, Beginnings, ends and everything in between. Life is a rollercoster that seems like it never end. Life is a rollercoster with its ups and downs, loopty loops and everything else. Life is a rollercoster, that when you get on you need a friend by your side. If you didn't have friends by side in life, you wouldn't have anyone to hold on to when there's a big downfall in your life. Life is a rollercoster that at sometime it will come to any end.

One day I got in a fight with my friend and I didn't want to say sorry because I didn't think I did anything wrong. Yet i felt really bad that we weren't talking to each other for a long time. So at that point I didn't really have a best friend to talk to when I had my ups and downs. She was always by my side and supported me through everything I did. So when we got in a fight I thought the rollercoster had ended. But just to let you know it didn't.

All in all life is a rollercoster that sometimes when it comes to an end it's a good thing and other times it's just not such a really good thing. All rollercosters come to ends and so does life. But like a rollercoster you have to enjoy the ride before it comes to an end. Like is a rollercoster that when you get on it you have to know there will be ups and downs. Enjoy the ride on a rollercoster because it will come to an end.

"Metaphor Madness" By: Tina F.

My life is a roller coaster!

It has ups and downs when I think it through. Sometimes we go in circles and do things twice. We may be scared to go on but when we do go on we have fun. We may be a little anxious to start up but when we actually do what our goal was we get really happy. When we have our downs all we want is to go through it and we reach a high place were we can be happy again . To get to the top and act as if we were the best or that we are the best because we went through it or because we think it won't happen again in our life. In the end we go through it happily and then think " why were we scared of going through it in the first place?" just because we actually defeated the difficult parts in life.

An example is the day of when I left californiafor the first time and was scared of moving on. You see when I was about to leave I was really down and sad. I didn't want to behind the life I had there espially when I was in middle school. It was one of the most sadest suitation that has happened to me and yet I was excited. When we left it was a sad day but when we arrived here everyone were happy and were cheering about being in Utah. As the time we spent in that week trying to find some cool places so we wouldn't get bored I realized, that this seemed more like a vacation than home. After that week time went by really fast. That time that I thought was sad became happy memories.

The time of that event shows that my life is a rollar coaster. Although there downs there are ways to turn them to ups. On that day I turned that sad day into a happy day by just being excited for something new. It felt like it was never going to be a good day again it ended up being one of the best. So it is true that lifes just go up and down at times but you can always find a way.

Metaphor Madness by Shaunie Graham

Life is a dream...

Life is a dream because it can be good or bad. It can be long or it can be cut short. You don't always remember your dreams, and you don't always remember things in life also. It can have its good moments but it can also have its terrible moments. Life and dreams both have a beginning and they both will eventually end.

This applies to my life every day because every day is new and fresh. Both good and bad things happen every new day. One minute I will be laughing and joking with all of my friends, then the next minute I could be sitting in class with thoughts swarming in my head. The smallest thing could trigger these changes.

Dreams are something nobody really understands. They don't always have a meaning, but sometimes they do but you just need to find it. That's the way life is also. Every person has something they're ment to do. Some dreams have something that could change your life. Dreams and life... They're alike if you really think about it.

My Life is a Rollar Coaster

The first hill is always the highest. It always takes the longest to climb. As you reach the top you realize your getting ready to lose your breath and end up with butterflies. When you get to the bottom of the first hill and you know you can't go any further, you see that you are ready to go back up and good things start happening. You are now at the top of the hill. When the cart is finally off the gears you fall. Down, down, down, down. You are at the bottom now and you're just waiting to get yourself back together. Now you are reaching the same place you started. The ride is over.

About 6 months ago I met the man I've been looking for my whole life, He was so amazing! However one day, he and my brother got into an arguement. Now this was about a month into the relationship. Well my boyfriend started calling people to come beat the crap out of my brother, so I left. I headed home, but half way there he texted me, he told me that i really shouldn't have done that, he told me that if I didnt come back, I would regret it. I didn't care, I didn't go back. He told me it was over. I was crushed! I cried forever but i didn't exactly know why, after all he was just another guy. The next day I recieved another text, from his phone. It read, "We need to talk." I said "ok, about what?" He then told me i needed to wait it was something that had to be said in person. I waited. That entire day everyone was telling me how, "no matter what he said, I couldnt take him back." After school we went to the hill. He had amazingly apologized for everything! Now if you only knew this kid, you would know, he isn't the kind of person to do that sort of thing. He told me he would do anything to have another chance with me. We talked for a little over an hour when I finally decided he was right. What he had done was a mistake and he just needed the night to realize that. I took my baby back!
Since that day we have broken up 5 times and have gotten back together 6 times. I honestly don't think i would ever be able to live my life without that kid! He is so amazing! Yes, we do have our moments but nothing can seperate us this time! We have everything finally figured out! I love Joshua James Gaston so much!!!!

"Family Folklore" by Alex Buchanan

When my mother was younger she played the piano. She was amazing, everytime she played a note on the keyboard it seemed like the heavens opened up to listen to her play. When she was sad, she played songs so sad that sometimes the clouds would cry when she played. Other times when she was happy, she would play and the sky would clear up and all of the birds would come out to sing and listen to her play. One day a key on her piano broke and she could not play that note for 3 days, she had to wait for it to be replaced. She was so angry that she could not play, so she cried and cried. The man never came to fix the piano and soon my mom didn't miss the piano as much. Then when the man came a long time after he was supossed to and fixed the key she sat down and tried to play. I think that nails on a chalkboard would have sounded better than her playing! She had been so busy thinking about other things in this time that she forgot how to play the piano. The lesson to learn from this story is to never give up on your talents or else you may loose them!

my life is like a flower pretty

and sometimes rare. There are allot of different colors all different in are own way the scent, the look and the climate they survive in or blossom. you have to find the one that best fits you and your personality maybe you enjoy the smell or the looks of it. We are all different in are own way just like flowers they might look the same but they don't bloom at the same time and look maybe one could be destroyed. They also could have a different pigment on the petals the shape could also be different. No on is the same even if your are twins you might have different personalities we should be happy that we are all different just like flowers.

this relates to when I moved to Australia I did and didn't like it my dad didn't want me and my brother to move because he loved us. He was different from my mom because my mom wanted us to go but my dad didn't he had his own opinion and new it would be hard to see us maybe he wouldn't get to see us ever again when we moved I thought this would be the last I would see him. He cared for me and I was his own rare and special daughter. The same with my Brother Josh.

My life is an unknown country
My life is an unknown country,
everyday is a brand new adventure
Sometimes there are valleys low and sad
and there are also mountains high and bright
Everyday I map this country,
cold and barren, warm and exciting
Life is a desert,
bare and lonely
But life can be a mountain
crowded (with trees) full of excitement
Occasionally people expierence the same area,
the same place I have mapped,
I can let other people read my map
sometimes I read theirs, take advice.
This country has rainy days,
days that I can't learn to dance in the rain.
This country has warm spring days
full with new life, enjoyable times
Rocky and hard, smooth and calm.
My life is an unknown country
I am talking about how my life is sad sometimes and I struggle. But my life can be happy. My life can be crowded with friends and family and enjoyable things. I can feel so alone I don't know what to do. My life is just like an unknown, unmapped country.
My rocky times and low valleys are like when I am feeling very sad. When I talk about reading other people's maps I talk about when my sister died and I felt comfort through other people, seeing how they are getting through the same thing as me. When I talk about warm spring days full with new life, I am talking about my sister having her baby, me becoming and aunt. When I say I can't learn to dance in the rain, I can't find the light at the end of the tunnel, I just don't know what I am going to do. When I map this country, this is when I come to things that I have to get through on my own, when there are expierences where I have to face the concequences, learn from my actions.

My life is a bus going down the highway of life

rocky spots I pass
but mostly smooth as butter

no friends nor family has taken the exit
they agree to travel on the same path

sometimes I veer or run astray
but I’m mostly as straight as a line can be

some days I’m out of gas and in need of some fuel
and sometimes I’m full and ready to run.

My event that happened in my life is I got my dog named sabra she is a boxer and se is the light of my life and I love her to death she will play with me and go on walks with me and just be around when I need company so the huge event that happened in my life that effected so much of how I do things is when I got her and everything I do to have her is all worth it and I wouldn't trade her for anything.

My life is a bus traveling down the high way of life(with a puppy in the back seat)

happy and perky a new dog can be
especially when your taking her home to be free

the chores and pains and work you need to do
is all worth it when she loves you

the car is more cozy with a dog in the seat
roll down the window, that is as good as getting meat

the dog your companion mans best friend
will be with you till the very end.

remember dogs are way better that guppies and remember
Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot little puppies.

My father can play the bass so well that even the vibrating strings can't keep up with his fingers. He's all over the place on that thing. You can't follow his fingers. If you tried, you may just fall into cardiac arrest. Being this great, he's obviously in a band. His band has been getting a great following for years and now was their chance to break. Kalai, the band, was scheduled to be on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Even though my dad is an amazing bass player, he's still cheap. We drove to Hollywood to go to his show. Let me tell you, that drive was so boring that even the road fell asleep. There was just nothing interesting on the drive. The only thing you could do was sleep or ask the classic question, "Are we there yet?" The whole way was desert. Lifeless, baron, desert. Even microbial life would be bored to tears there! When we finally reached Hollywood, it was like that drive never existed before.

We drove around everywhere! We covered every square foot of Hollywood. We left no corner unseen. Hollywood was ours for that night. If you've ever driven around Hollywood though, you would know how unusual it is. It's so strange that an alien invasion would probably be considered ordinary. If you go to the Chinese theater, you'll find character impersonators walking around. That's how I was able to meet Spongebob! Back on subject, the streets were lined with stars and literal stars on the ground. It was so amazing.

That night was my dad's television debut! He was so excited, that coffee was able to calm him down! I've never seen him like that before. He couldn't stop moving, shaking, or talking. We arrived at the studio and the funniest sign was there! The sign said, "Jimmy Kimmel has been canceled tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience." My dad was stumped. He couldn't figure it out. He sat, watching the sign for half an hour! The first words that came out of his mouth after that were "Let's take a picture with it." Now I was stumped! I couldn't figure out what was going on in his head!

We drove home the next day. My dad didn't say a word for the whole 9 hour drive. In fact, no one said a word. Now our car was as baron and lifeless as the desert. Every time someone tried to start a conversation, no one said anything! So when we finally got home, I sat down. My eyes were as black as night from exhaust! Out of nowhere, my dad walks in and bursts into bright laughter! To the point where he was crying! At first, we didn't no why. But then we joined along laughing with him because his laughing was so funny. We came to a realization why he was laughing! We just went all the way to California for a show that ended up being canceled. We could have checked online before we even went there to check to see if the show was still a go. That was our whole family "blond moment."

Family Folklore By. Spencer Prestwich

It was about 9 a.m. on a thursday morning when Spencer's alarm went off as he jumped so high he hit his head on the clouds. As he made his way around the house waking up his brother's and sister's when they made there way to the beach Spencer was so happy he ran to the beach as fast as he could all the way there. When he finally got there he threw his towel to the ground at one hundred miles an hour and ran so fast the sand spread apart and made a path way for him. And that is when he saw it the biggest wave he has ever seen and Spencer swam on his surf board as fast as he could go Spencer could not believe how big it was getting it was mile high and Spencer was so excited to get on it and ride it to shore. It wasnt long before it got to him and surfed it for so long that he fell a sleep on his board. and finally he caught an edge and hit the sand so hard he put a dent in the earth. And Spencer got up and walked off.

Every year, up at Bear Lake, we go to the lake. The lake that is cold as ice and chills you to the bone if you so much as touch the water. There is green everywhere except the lake that is as clear as blue can be. That, and the blinding white of the glacier. This isn't an ordinary glacier, though. This glacier is here even in the volcano that is the heat of summer. It was one of those days when the heat was absolutely unbearable. The sky is clear, not a cloud in sight. There is no way it could rain. Even though the rain would be my only relief from this scorching heat. My only thought was to jump in. I debated for what seemed like hours about whether or not to go in. As soon as I decided not to jump in, I fell. When I finally landed in the water it was freezing. When I fell, the water was so shocking, it forced the air right out of my lungs. When I managed to crawl out, the warm air felt like heaven on my skin. Unfortunately, I was still soaking, and I still fell into that arctic water.

One day and my family of 1,000, were having a family party. We were at my grandparents manchine. It was like a circus! Every one was going crazy, cause there was so many things going on. Me and my cousin zoie had to watch all of the little kids while the adults his easter eggs. We all of a sudden heard a noise comming from the closet. We all jumped up on something! Zoie and I finally got up the nerv to go and look to see what it was.

We opened the closet door and saw a little creature that we have never seen before. It started talking to us, and we were so freaked out. He told us about this other world that he had just came from. He asked us all if we would like to go visit it with him. We were not really sure if we should, but we didn't know if this opertunity would ever come again, so we decided to go.

When we got there it was nothing like our world. It kand of looked like we were in space. We were all very scared and did not talk much. He took us to meet his family. They were all very nice. We stayed for dinner, and then played games with his family. He took us to playses they like to go and visit and to hang out. After a while we decided that we should probably get back to our grandparents house. So we said goodbye. And left the way we came in.

When we got back it had felt like forever sinse we had been gone, but when we looked at the clock it had only been 5 minutes. Are parents came and got us, and we tried to tell them about our adventure, but they just said they were glad that we had a good imagination. We kept trying to tell them, but they just wouldn't listen to us.

My family folklore is about my dad and my uncles when they were kids. My dad Shawn and my uncle Billywere just playing around. They played so much, not even a couple of kids hyped up on sugar could play any harder, and have as much fun.. While my uncle Johny was quietly sleeping. Johny could sleep so hard and quietly, not even a power drill could wake him up. So Shawn and Billy went into his room and were bugging him. They bugged him so much, actual bugs couldnt do any better.

So Shawn and Billy were bugging my uncle when he was sleeping. He kept telling them to stop but they wouldnt. So Johny yelled that hes going to beat the crap out of them. So Shawn and Billy got away faster then two deers do when they see a hunter. Once they got out of there Shawn knew he had to find a hiding spot and quick. Shawn found a closet and decided to hide in there.

While Shawn was hiding in there Billy ran into the room, with Johny right behind him. Johny started to beat Billy, with Shawn hiding in the closet. Shawn enjoyed watching Billy get beat up. Since Johny couldnt find my dad, so Johny went back to his bed and slept. So Shawn came out of the closet, and laughed at my uncle, since Billy usually picked on Shawn.

This was at a time when we were on a family outing. Every year we go to a camping place, like Willard bay or Jordanelle. Two years ago we went to Jordanelle, my family, my friend, and my friends family were all there. My friend and I were racing in the water, my friend used to swim so slow that if a shark was swimming and saw him it would have thought he was dead and ignore him. I won my friend every time I raced him that year but I lost to every body else. Now my friend is a strong swimmer and he swims a lo0t faster than me. He swam so fast that he made a wake. That day we ate bbq chicken and had a lot of fun. The water was so cold that al the fishes in the lake died from a cold. We stayed at the Jordanelle for four days

One day I was riding this ginormous horse he was as tall as a 6 story building. My uncle was guiding it because I was only 10. Each time the horse would step you could feel the world shake. As my uncle was guiding it I asked him to let go so i could try it on my own. We were in a field that was as big as the Sahara desert. As we were riding the was small horses all the way across the field it was really far. This horse was about ready become a tornado in a trailer park and zoom over to the other horses. This horse just jumped it was like there was a vi sous wolf behind him. so I was just trying to hold on and i was yelling for him to stop and horse turned into a sandstorm in the desert. I was being thrown around and could not take control of it. as the horse jumped i went flying off as i hit the ground i was under the horse as he kicked my legs he leaped. He landed and the world turned into a big earth quake the water was spilling off into outer space. the shake and the rumble of the motorcycles and four wheelers coming to get me the people screaming like the world was ending they took me back to camp and there were craters in the backs of mi legs and my pance were ripped to shreds. The horse was then retrieved and the only remembrance left are the scars on my legs.

When I was in 2nd grade my family went to Rageing Waters over the summer. When we got thier it was so crowded that you couldn't move without hiting someone. The first place we went to was the Wave Pool the waves were so tall that they would block out the sun until they came back down on top of us. Next we went to alot of different water slides there were so many that three of them were in a knot and one went so high you could talk to the birds at the top and then It took two hours just to get back down so they gave you pillow if you wanted to sleep on the way. On our last slide thier was alot of hills and bumps so kids were flying every where but I held on tight so i only fell off once. My dad was the last to go down and on one of the hills he fell off his tube then flew through the air 100 yards almost hit an airplane flew through Burger King got some food for dinner then landed in the end pool and spashed all the water out. after that we went home and my dad had trouble walking for two weeks.

It all started 11:30 in the morning on Saturday March 14, 2009. The only thing we could here was the screaming of the gods. They were screaming because Johnny and I were out skating. We were the best skaters that existed. When we got down to Trax to go down to Sandy Skate Park everyone moved so we could sit down. We got down there to Sandy the skaters there were pretty good but not close to as good as us.

We brought a garbage can over and started olling over it. One time I ollied and my foot was in the wrong spot(to far up on the skateboard). I landed on my foot first and it was sideways like what would happen if I were to roll it and then my skateboard kept going and I also ran over the same foot. This all happened so fast no one knew what happened all you could here was craking and everyone in aww seconds later.

John Rowe Moyle was my great great great grandpa he lived in the pioneer times. He use to walk all the way from alpine to were the Salt lake Mormon temple every day to go work on it. It was so far,he never needed to go to a gym. One day he was milking the cow when the cow got scared and kicked his leg the pain felt like a beehive full of bees after the beehive has been shook and rolled around . The said they would have to amputate on his leg so they tide him to a door and and gave him a shot of whiskey to numb the pain or he would scream, like there was no tomorrow. They then put a saw to his leg and sawed it off. While he was recovering he whittled a wooden leg for him to walk on after recovered he walked back and forth to the temple back to alpine on his wooden leg that looked so bad it looked like a dogs chew toy. He was known for the engravings on the temple that says hollyness unto the lord.

My story is a love story. It was the day they met. the year was 1962. He spoke no english what-so-ever. He had just moved here from Denmark. My great grandfather decided it was time to learn english and living here and not being able to understand anyone for a million decades! He went to the "best in the world" communtity college. That was where there stone colored eyes turned into rainbows. It was deffinately love at first sight! She had been helping the teacher at the time and to everyone else she was just a stick with gloomy eyes but to him she was the most gorgeous thing he'd ever seen.

Later that week was the spring fling. Of course he asked her, I mean he was gonna marry the girl! She said yes and ran home to tell her parents. When the dance came he showed up at her house at 8:03 exactly. They danced all night long.

They dated for 4 and a half years but then decided it was time to go there seperate ways. She married someone and had a child, my grandfather. This man was never quite right, he came home late, he was always drunk, he hit her when he wasn't. When she was finally ready to leave Egan was right there with her, ready to take her back.

After dating for 7 years, he finally got all the words right, "will you marry me?" It was perfect! Of course Gwen said yes. Shortly after the wedding Egan adopted Gwen's only son. Timothy finally had a trust-worthy father.

That was how the couple that made us possible was created.

It was a family reunion, I was about three years old. I thought I was big girl so I tried to drink out of the big cup. It was so big compared to mine, it could have been gallons of soda to me at that time.

I went to get the drink and BAM!! The ice and soda went EVERYWHERE! The ice went all over my face and down my shirt. It was so cold I thought I was going to turn purple and blue. My whole family was around laughing at me so loud that it was echoing in my head. At this point I was crying my eyes out, which made them laugh even harder and louder.

My family made fun of me for it until I was at least 6. It didn't bother me back then because I didn't understand. But now, I wasnt to pull my hair out for not catching in AND being stupid enough to think I was a big girl.
It was a hot summer day in Councel Bluff Iowa, the sun was smiling big. It was a balcony in the second floor where I jumped off. I felt as if I was an eagle and all I had to do was spread my wings and fly away. It seemed like I was jumping off a plane, this fall/jump lasted for ever and ever and ever. The wind hit my face like an air conditioner in the scortching sun. Or maybe a hot heater on your feet walking through a snow storm. It felt as if Iwas sourin, flyin, there wasn't a star in heaven I couldn't reach. I was truly breaking free. I believed I could fly, I truly believed that I could touch the sky, I thought about for nights, and days, then finally I spread wings and flew away, like a leaf falling off a tree. I was like a bird, I only fly away, I didn't know where my soul is, and didn't care where my home is. I was like a bird. Finally, I reached the ground. With a loud THUMP! It was horrible, I didn't break any bones (gladly) When I went back upstairs. My sister freaked out! She was yelling about how I jumped off and all that good stuff. I told her to just shut up, I said, do you see any broken bones? "I didn't think so." So go back to the kitchen and finish making my lunch, haha, then I got in trouble for being sassy and disrespectful. But I give myself two thumbs up.

It was a cold winter night when it all happened. The day that I fell down the stairs. I was getting ready for school when I realized I was getting late. So I bolted out of the bathroom and into my room. I was running so fast, you couldn't even see me when I ran past. My door was closed so I tried to reach my hand out to open the door but I couldn't manage to to open the door so I ran into the door like a blind person walking around in an unfamiliar place. When I ran into the door I started to laugh so hard, it felt like my lips were splitting apart. I finally got myself together and opened the door. I looked at my clock and it was 7:30 and that's usually the time that I leave my house. It took me so long to get ready I thought school was probably over. I finally got ready and bolted down the stairs. I was in socks so slippery that it was like I had ice under my feet. I fell down the stairs like a bowling ball rolling down the lane about to hit the pins but unlike the bowling ball I had no pins to hit. I was still rolled up like a ball waiting for my body to hit the wall, but I realized the wall was never coming to me. I got up noticing that i stopped right before the wall. Instead of laughing so hard this time i started to cry because I thought I broke a bone in my body. After all the things that happened to me that morning I was still late for school.

Once upon a time there was a boy named Ridge. He was always running and playing. He was known as the funniest kid in the world. He was at Disneyland a couple years ago and had just gotten off the airplane. He was like a tiny bouncy ball bounding between the surrounding people. He was so excited to get to Disneyland that he ran as fast as the speed of light.
He jumped on a flat esculator and before he knew it his pants were hanging at his ankles, but he didn't care and he found it quite comical so he continued to run with his pants at his ankles. He looked like a penguin waddling to the ocean to dive in.
Meanwhile his mother was snapping photographs, while the crowd roared with laughter so much that it could be heard around the world. Soon he couldn't run as fast anymore and he kept tripping on the bundle of denim wrapped around his ankles. His mother decided he needed a belt because he couldn't play at Disneyland all day like that, so they went to the nearest gift shop and tried to find a belt for Ridge.
Unfrotunately, the belts were so big that it made the trunks of trees seem small. His mother said that they will have to try to find a different one because these belts would swallow him whole. They got in their car and drove to the nearest grocery store. "Here's a belt," said his mother as she wrapped it around his waist, but it was too tiny! "I'm going to have to drive across the country to find you a belt" said his mother.
"Let's just go to Disneyland and see if we can find one there" peeped in his father. So they drove to Disneyland and went to a Mickey Mouse gift Shop. "Here's a belt!" It's the perfect size too said his sister. "This belt was made just for you his mom said as he stared at the belt in embarassment. His face was so red that he made the lady bugs jealous, because the belt was pink and had Minnie Mouse all over it!

Many many years ago I went to the store to buy a scooter. We got in the car with my mom, dad , and my sister. I was so excited that I wanted to jump out the car at a red light and sprint to the store. It felt like we were driving for hours by the time we got to the store. We got in and I rushed to get the scooter. My dad paid for it and we put it in the car. I wanted to drive it in the parking lot but my parents wouldn't let me until I got home.

When we got home I started riding down the streets. I was getting bored of riding in a little space so i asked my parents if we could go to the church parking lot. When they said yes I jumped from my house to the parking lot. I was riding around and my parents and sister were watching. After a while my sister asked if she could ride my scooter. She had never been on a scooter before. So she got on ascooter and went all the way to the moon and back. She landed on her elbows and they were nd after a minute she started getting speed and she didn't know how to stop. She flew off the gushing blood like a waterfall. My mom grabbed her and flew to the hospital like superman chasing a bad guy. Everything was okay with her. When we look back at it we laugh about it and joke around.

It was a hot and sunny day, it was so hot that you could crack and egg open and cook it on the sidewalks. Me and my half brother's, wife's, nephew's, cousin's, brother Coltan, He was 16 and I was 12.
He wanted to skateboard at at this high school so we grabbed our skateboards and hoped over our backyard fence, that fences was so high we had to connect two ladders together so that we can climb up it. Coltan went up first and I followed. Coltan was so tall that he was probably as tall as our fence, so when he jumped off our fence he was only one foot from the ground. "C'mon and jump already." He said. I looked down, the ground was so far away from me I probably needed a telescope to see it. I jump down, I thought I should have brought a parachute for this but Coltan caught me, "
Alright I know this short cut but we have to cross this road first." He said. I looked up and saw the road we had to cross. The road was so busy that you couldn't see the other side of the road, and of coarse everyone was driving pass the 60 mph speed limit. Coltan just booked it so I followed, I tried to keep up with him but he was so fast, that it looked liked he was one of the cars driving down the road. I herd a loud honk, I looked over and a Hummer was about to run right over me, but just when I though I would be road kill, Coltan tugged my arm and threw me 30 feet in the air and I landed on the other side of the road. "Your gonna get yourself killed if you don't be careful." He said, I looked back at the busy road "But.. I.. it.." " C'mon lets go." He said before I could finish my sentence.
We skated down the high school parking lot. The parking lot was so big and there were so many cars that if you parked your car here you would need a GPS to find it. Coltan skated so fast out of the parking lot that he disappeared in a blink in the eye. By the time I got out he was taking a nap waiting for me. I woke him up and we skated behind the school. Then we saw the biggest staircase I've ever seen, It was so big that the sun could set behind it at 3:00 in the after noon. "I'm gonna do a kickflip down it." He said. I though he should be the next Dare Devil if he is gonna do that.
It took him an hour to get up those steps, He had to call me so I would know When he is gonna do it so I can get out of the way. At first I didn't see anything and then, I saw a small black dot, and then the dot got bigger and bigger and then it turned into Coltan. He landed it. "Dude did you see that! I'm gonna try it again." He said, and then he ran up those steps, They should install an elevator. He called me again and then jumped and the same thing happened but this time when he landed the board was turned so he landed on it wrong.
You could hear a huge CRACK and then Coltan was screaming so loud that he scared the sun and the moon away. It was total darkness. We took him to the Doctor and the doctor said the he broke his leg so badly that he won't be able to walk for a whole year! But i don't think that will be the last time he jumps down those stairs again.

Family Folklore by: Jessica Coles

It was all a blur. A day that none of my family has forgotten. It was the scariest day of our lives, especially for my little brother, Tayler. It all started when my brother decided to climp the biggest tree in the world! It measured to about 3,000ft! It was even taller than the Rocket at Lagoon!! Well, Tayler being Tayler, thought he could go ahead and climb that tree. We told him over and over not to climb it, and that he would get hurt, but aparently that didn't stop him. He flew to the first branch like a bird and starting soaring up the tree. He climped up that thing to fast I could feel a tornato starting, the wind blew so hard it threw my little sister against the side of the house. It was insane! Tayler finally reached the top and looked over the mountains, he looked so far that he was the Great Wall of China! He stood there for a while in the silence and looked beyond the sky and the world. It was beautiful. It was so quiet that you could hear a mouse deep down in it's little burried hole, when all of a sudden...you hear a cracking tree brach.

Oh, my goodness!! Everyone gasped!! "TAYLER!!" I yelled. "Be careful. Hurry get down before you fall!!" But it was too late, that branch snapped and broke! Tayler tried to hold on for dear life like a Koala Bear clings to a tree himself, but it didn't work. He started to fall...he was screaming like a little girl does when she barely scratches her knee. He screamed and yelled so loud that he woke up the moon, the moon thought it was time to get up and do it's job of lighting the way in the darkness, but when the moon saw the sun still, he creeped back down. Tayler tried to grab ahold of other tree branches, but they all broke and snapped in half too. Nobody knew what to do. Everyone's heart was pounding like when you hammer nails into a wall. Everyone was in a panic that they also woke a hibernating bear! The bear was furious and started roaring at us, and telling us to be quiet! She roared so loud that I thought she was going to start an Earthquake!! After the bear was done yelling, our attention was back on Tayler, he was free falling, and hitting every other branch that layed there.

As Tayler continued to fall, everyone was clutching to each other's arms, and every animal that ever existed was by our sides, watching anxiously. Not knowing what was going to happen. By this time he had fallen about 100ft so far, still screaming like a little school girl. The family was so worried that I thought their eyes were going to pop out of their heads! They didn't even blink!! They were stunned! I could see Tayler's face which was white just like Casper's bald head. That's when I couldn't take it anymore!! I yelled at the Eagles and told them to fly up there and save him, but when they flew up there they couldn't catch him. It was like an accident waiting to happen, and there was no stopping it!! Finally Tayler had fallen even farther and farther and he was almost to the ground! Now that's scary, because who knows what kind of damage it will cause!!! We were all afraid, but not as scared as Tayler! But then all of a sudden something came from out of the blue, something strange! It saw Tayler falling, and then flew right underneath him and caught him! Tayler was saved!! Can you believe it!! Well, not entirely saved, when he was put on the ground by what ever that was who saved him, Tayler was all beat up and bruised he looked like he was wrapped up and stuck in the war!!

Tayler was crying, but not because he was hurt, but because his life was just saved. Some people call it a miracle, but Tayler just called it an Angel.

The words that travel down the generations is like the leaves in the wind, the words of the notorious Dalton Gang the most vicious evil out laws of the 1880's they were so mean if a angry diamond back rattle snake crossed there path it would be shaking his rattle in fear not anger and after they look at it with no pity it would just roll over and die right then and there, see my mothers madden name is Dalton and she named me that for that same reason she likes that name, so I’m there probably there great great great grandson or something like that and so here is there story.

As the oldest brother grew up the was a deputy and as he was tracking a theft in Oklahoma like a dog tracking there freshly buried bone, after the found the man there was a shoot off and he died. So as the younger three brothers grew up they were on the other side of the law, fist there was Gratton Dalton but he goes by Grat, Bob Dalton, and Emmett Dalton and soon formed a gang for the gang they recruited Geoge Newcome, Charely Pierce, Charlie Bryand, Bill Doolin, Dick Broadwell, and Bill Powers these men robed train after bank after train they were so good they almost took all the money in the whole world, so skilled they could steel the butter from the fly and then put it back together.

As they roamed the land they had a dream of robbing two banks at the same time, the plan was so foolish all the outlaws of the west would have gathered around and all died from laughing, well they tried it and boy did it fail, all the towns people rushed home only to return with their guns there was a huge shoot off and every one died in a great explosion of gun shots and everyone died with a thud to the ground and the Dalton Gang could never to rob a bank again.

The tale of a very sad mishapping.
This tale starts when the massive brother of mine had just came from a very boring basketball the sun had to take a nap to get through the game so he was not very happy with himself. He came stomping so hard it felt like an earthquake when he arrived. I was standing there being good like always when my jumbo brother started yelling so loud that my next door neighbor called to say we were being to loud. My mother the sweetest little person came out confused and amused at the tantrum my older brother was having. She asked what the issue was in a sweet voice that my dog fell asleep again. He told his story and did the yelling. My sweet mother saw the anger of a lion in him and told him to stay home and relax before he frightened the sun away. When she told him that he just went off the high horse and yelled more. He was still screaming when he kicked the basketball with the force of a trunk at the speed of light. It was like a slow motion movie when the ball hit my face. I did not notice anything until my mother started to scream at my brother with rage that it felt as if the building was going to crack with all that was happening. Then I noticed that my nose was bleeding so much that it looked like a waterfall. He had broken my nose and the pain was like a mouse whisker was just tickling my nose. It was a very dramatic day that I will never forget.

It was a melting hot summer day, my two older sisters were younger, they cut up bananas and buried them in a mountain of sugar and put them in the freezer, like our family has always done. Melissa being the youngest and greediest tried to sneak the largest, yellowest banana she has ever seen. It was larger then the moon, more yellow than the sun, and as sweet as 5 cups of sugar. Sneakly she popped it in her mouth faster than a nascar racecar. Suddenly Melissa turned black and blue, she was choking! Faster than you can say supercalafragalisticexpialadocious, Adrianne was over at Melissa's side and performed the heimlich maneuver. The banana flew out of Melissas mouth and flew across the kitchen! Adrianne had saved Melissa's life! And to Melissa's disapointmet Adrianne found out that she had taken the best banana. They were devastated neither of them got to enjoy the delicious sugar covered banana

One time years ago, my family and I were at my grandparents house in Montana. The whole family was there. The house was so crowded, we couldn't even take one step. We all were having so much fun that a whole week passed in the blink of an eye. But one evening we all gathered around the table to play a game. We decided to play the game "Imagine Iff..." When it came time for my grandmother to take her turn she chose a card. The card read, "Imagine Iff... Garret were a Superlative, which would he be? My grandmother was going along reading the card just fine until she came to the word superlative. Instead of saying superlative she read, "Imagine Iff Garret were a superlaxitive which would he be? We all started laughing hysterically! My grandma got a confused expression on her face. We all explained to her what she had said, she read the card again and insisted that it said superlaxitive. My brother rushed over to see for himself. He read the card aloud to the rest of us when he realized what it really said. We all started laughing even harder. We laughed so hard our heads fell off. My grandma went so red her head turned into a cherry! "How embarrassing that my own grandson can read better than me and has to correct my mistakes!" she said.
This night is so memorable it is engraved in all of our brains and hearts. It was one of the best nights of my life!

"Family Folklore"... By: Kaitlyn Byars

It was so dark outside, it almost seemed that there had been an eclipse without anyone knowing, my uncle could barely see anything in the fog that was as thick as smoke. Sitting there in the barren land wondering what was going on, my uncle decided to think that the figure he just saw was his mind playing tricks on him, so as anyone else would do he decided to walk back to his house, that at the time seemed farther away then Europe. As he started walking he kept on thinking that he was being followed, he didnt want to think that there was anyone following him, so he didnt turn around and look, but finally after about a mile of walking he decide to turn and see who it was, after making his decision he stopped walking and hesitated then turned around slowly as if he was kreeping up on someone. He finally got all the way around and saw the same figure he had seen when he was further back, now he did not at all think it was his mind playing tricks on him, he knew that someone was there and he did think about it being a "MONSTER", he thought it was maybe a family member of maybe a person he knew.

So being like any other person he just turned around and asked "who's there?" Sitting there wondering what was going on, almost as confused as a monkey in the desert. As he looked into the thick fog, he could barely see anything, it was like the figure wanted to creep him out, but then out of no where there tit was, the half horse half man, this thing I swear was as tall as the "Empire State Building", this firgure stood at a hieght of seven foot one. As scared as he has ever been my uncle said hello in english, the thinking it might not know how to speek english, agian siad hi in indian, then wtih an echoing voice the thing siad "Hello". Then knowing that it spoke both languages, my uncle said "who are you, do you know me?"

Right when my uncle said "do I know you ?" the figure bust like an angry bear, running and yelling like someone had attack it, the figure zoomed past my uncle like a jet fyling in the air. As it ran further and further away into the darkness my uncle could tell what it was, it was a half man half horse, it has the lower body of a horse, and the top part as a man, this figure was a man that was Native American, and had black hair longer than the tallest geraffe in the world. Since that night my uncel still wonders what heppend in that place called South Dakota, wondering why that think chose him to bother and if he was mean or if he just wanted you to know he was there. Since then this story has been told in my family, and is still going to be later on.

A snapshot of me by. Spencer Prestwich

It was about 10 a.m. on a hot summer morning when my alarm clock rang. As I got up as fast as I could and ran around the condo telling my sister to get up and get her swimming suit on. As the clock hit 11 a.m. we were out the door on our way to the beach. When we finally reached the last stair and hit the freakishly hot sand I ran as fast as I could and jumped in the ocean with my boogie board. At least ten minutes later I got out and that's when I heard it "Spencer wait there" I tried my hardest to run to get back in the water I stopped to look back aand that's when she snapped the photo and that is how it happened.

When she took the photo I was thinking hurry and take the picture so I can catch that huge wave as the picture was taken. An hour lter I got bored and decided to go back t the condo.

It was a snowy day in the middle of January. My classmates and I were getting the tables ready all day. " Fifth Grade Mall." That was the name of the project. Each student had to make an object to sell for fake money to other students. Everyone was very excited to put their project for sale.

We also had to make a sign that advertised our item and taped it to our desks. I still remember what I named mine. "Wristband and Co." I made wristbands with a cool symbol on the front. The teacher had said to us "The more you sell, the more extra credit you get." I couldn't wait to see what other people had made. It was 1:20 and it was right after lunch. We started at 1:30.

I finally put my wristbands on the table and was ready to sell. I had a big smile on my face when we first started. After 10 minutes I had sold all my wristbands. I was walking around and seeing what other people had made. There was some very cool and interesting things that I had bought with my fake money. The picture shows me at the very start of the mall and I was very happy. This is one of the memories I will remember.

"Getting To Know You" By Emily McBride

I Choose the song The Scientist by Coldplay, it is important to be because it is Coldplay, which is my sister's favorite band. I also like it because one of the lines says "it's such a shame for us to part, no body said it was easy..." This song kind of gives me a bitter-sweet feeling, hard because I think of my sister when I hear this song and then I start missing her really bad, but good because it brings back memories of us rocking out to Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Bon Iver, and David Bowie!!! I relate to this song because the line I quoted earlier, it is really hard for us to be apart, and and really it isnt easy.

I interviewed Dalton Moller, he chose the song Grace Kelly. It reminds him of all the other people in the world that are struggling and have worse problems than his. His favorite line is "Why don't you like me? Why don't you like me, with out making me try? The song makes him think of the people struggles people are facing. This song makes him happy and makes him want to dance, because of the upbeat tempo of the song! The song is my Mika and it is alternative genre.

Our songs are alike because they both are in the genre of alternative. They also both make us think of hard times or struggles people face. There are also differences with our songs, one is that they make us feel a little different, Dalton wants to dance and is happy when he hears his song. When I hear my song I think of my sister and I have a somber feeling. These are both great songs!

My picture is me and my brother at his birthday party. we are at my grandmas house it is a old white two story house we are standing in front of a glass mirror with a brown antique clock and fake plants infront. The house is decorated for a party/magic show and the forth of July.

It was my brothers birthday party the theme was a magic show. I was sticking my hand into on of those magic sacks, me and my brother were photographed because the magician brought me and my brother up to do a magic trick. My friends and my brothers friends were sitting on the couch watching us.

I was nervous at the time and scared because I didn't know what was in the bag.

what I pulled out of the bag was some long baloons but the first time nothing he had told us to blow them up we couldn't it was way to hard.

At the end my brother got alot of presents from the magicain like a stuffed rabbit and some magic cups and balls.

This is a snapshot of me standing in front of some people, I wasn’t very sure who they were or even who I was all I knew is that I'm not sleeping, and I want to sleep, I do not want to stand in front of the tail end of a lame train, what is so amazing about this train anyway just get me in my car seat and drive, let me feel the bumps of the road that will massage me back to my peaceful slumber.

My picture was taken of me at the Golden Spike in Ogden, Utah we were driving up to Idaho to see my grandma so we just decided to stop and visit, so my parents woke me up, and I did not want to be woke up so my family dragged me over placed me down in front of the back a red train that is jetting out from the left side of the picture where they wanted to take the picture, so my older sisters are standing happily behind smiling as if it was Christmas, and be hind us a dark space with no one in sight.

My face is the star of the picture I'm the first person you look at and you cant take your eyes off me it looks like I slept walked over there and was about to curl up and take a nap but my sisters grab my shoulder and don’t let me go any where so I was stuck in front of a silly train looking as tired as I can be so if you want so know what my face looked like go look at your dad on a Sunday when he is napping in the living room and there is my face and as for the rest its mere background.

The Golden Spike is an amazing place with wonder and history written all over the building and trains and if I went there today I would be sucked up to the past and relive the experience but 11 years ago I was having my own experience looking at the back of my eyelids, yes I was tired but why didn't think of the history the past maybe I was to young I guess little kids don’t marvel of the past because I know that kid falling asleep standing up did not care about any thing there.

a snapshot of me by Joe Isaacon

This is a picture of me when I was four, about 9 years ago.I am at my grandmothers house holding her puppy. I am standing by the sidewalk on the grass, in the background you can see my grandmothers shed and her trampoline. You can also see my big brother trying to climb up a tree using a rope. My grandma used to live on a farm about 3 hours away from Salt Lake City, so we couldn't see her very often. On the top right corner you can see some hay and a big broken blue bus.
That day we left at 7 in the morning and slept there for five days. Every night we roasted marshmallows and made a 8 ft tall camp fire. Some times we would go swimming somewhere, I cant remember where because it was a long time ago. We rode horses and went to my grandmas store.
On this trip my best friend came and so did my two brothers friends. This was the funnest trip I ever went on although it didn't smell very good. My brothers and there friends were having a paint ball gun war and my brother "accidentally" shot me, but I always knew it wasn't an accident.

Hockey, a sport of grace, power, and money. To play this game you need the skill, the will, and the perseverance. It's hard to accomplish great things in hockey. This one man has set a record for the most goals scored in the NHL for any left winger to ever play. Luc Robitaille. To meet this man is a great inspiration to any hockey player. In this snapshot, from left to right, it's my father, Luc Robitaille, then me. This snapshot has more of a story though than what I just said though.

Years ago, I wasn't the hockey-playing beast of a boy I am today. I was just your average twinkie-loving 9 year old. One day, my dad took me to a hockey game and it changed my life. The game just happened to have Luc Robitaille playing left wing. I was astonished. I couldn't believe that people could dress up in 40 pounds worth of gear, skate on a sheet of frozen water with blades only a millimeter thick, and use their stick to get a small rubber object into a goal smaller than the man protecting it. Luc, my inspiration, scored a hat trick that game (3 goals in one game). After that game, I couldn't stop thinking about hockey and that amazing hat trick.

That same year, I started to play hockey. With the goal of eventually meeting that scoring beast. He was my inspiration for playing. Him and some other Hall of Famers. I got further into hockey, I studied the history of the game, I studied better ways to play and became very knowledgeable of the great game. I went to every NHL game I could, all of them blowing my mind. My mind was still set on meeting that man. I eventually went to a hockey camp where he was the instructor. He taught so much, and I was just shocked to finally meet this man and actually learn from him.

Later, I had the chance to go to California for a music convention. My uncle is a radio DJ in California, so he can get us plenty of things to do in California. My dad sneakily suggested to him that we go see their local team, the Kings, play against the Red Wings. My uncle got us the tickets! Not only that, he got us V.I.P. passes to the game. We ended up in the Lexus club, it's very high class. In fact, it's so high class that the toilets had gold seats! Well, not really. But I wouldn't be surprised! We ate our delicious dinner there with the man, the manager of the King's communications department, Luc Robitaille. He even remembered me from that camp, and said I was a great hockey player. Those words were so inspiring. This picture is of me, my dad, and Luc right before we went back to our hotel. I will never forget it.

It was a warm summer day of 2008. In this picture, my youth group and I were at the park attending a B-b-que. We were coming from a Youth Service. I was trying to dry off my clothes because we just finished playling with water baloons. The grass was green as green can get, so I was really excited to lay out and the warm Sun dry my cold, wet clothes.

Maritza (far left) Ashley (right of Maritza) ME! (in the middle) Anelle (far right). The reason why this picture was taken was because we were about to go get something to eat, so we just took a picture to get something to remember that day by.

Well we were all very hungry, so we just pulled out a camera and started taking pictures until it was time to eat so right after we took the picture, one of our friends Yvette who isn't in the picture came and tried to ruin it, so we beat her to the chase. By then the food was ready and we had the time of our lives there. :D

A Snapshot of Me by Dallas Kunkler

The photograph was taken at my dads second roomates house, since he got into a legal argument against his 1st roomate. It was token in the main hallway in the basement where my dad was staying. I was 6 at the time and the picture was token on 7/1/01. My dad is in the picture with me and he was 29 at the time. My sister took the picture of us.

The picture was taken because my dad and my mom got divorced, and I didn't see my dad often. It was mainly token because he was staying in a better place because his old roomate was a drugie, and we were happy. We were happy because we were having fun, and hanging out. I love this picture because it means something to me, and I look at it all the time. The picture makes me think of my dad when I look at it, because I don't see him a lot.

I will always remember this picture because we were in a better place, and I liked it a lot more. It was cleaner, didnt smell, and I liked the roomates better. I love this picture because its a picture of me and my dad when I was younger, and I dont have many of them. Ill always remember this picture, and Ill always have it.

A Snapshot of Me by Madi Muir

A dark room on a Christmas morning, the only light is the one coming from a Christmas tree in the far right of this room, at the edge is a tree skirt is folding out on. Around the corner of the room is the wrapping paper from all of the child's presents... my presents... they lay in a pile behind me, but I've found the one I really want, its a large baby doll wrapped in a blanket this is the first doll i ever had as a kid.

This baby is twice the size of me so despite my efforts to keep it off the ground it would drag behind me, with the doll in a head lock and me tilting to one side trying to keep its feet off the ground, I would always trip or fall on the dolls feet because they got in my way alot. But although Iwould be mad at the doll for doing this, I would always forgive it and pretend feed it again just to take care of it, to me as a child this doll was something i didnt want to be without something that I wanted to take with me everywhere.

When I was little this doll was something I consederd an actual person Iwould think of it as a sibling so I would attempt to sneak it with me whenever my mom told me I couldnt bring it with me to my babysitters house. Wich was a dificult thing because it was bigger than me.

It was a cold winter day, but it was warm in the high school auditorium. Girls of all ages were surrounded by family and friends congratulating them. This picture is with me, my friend Saige, and my other friend Nicole. It was my first show in company and I was really nervous. I was glad when the first show ended but I still had another show to do.

I've been dancing for almost nine years now. I do ballet, tap, and a contemporary/jazz mix. In my free time I like to dance full contemporary and some hip-hop. For my tap dance in my big show I'm doing a dance to the song "You can't stop the beat" from hairspray, and my jazz will be Micheal Jackson's "Thriller". This picture was taken because we were all walking trying to find our parents but we found Saige's mom first. My mom was right behind her and I guess I didn't see her. The first picture her mom took we were looking at her. Then I noticed my mom she took the picture that I'm using.

At that moment I felt proud and excited. I felt proud because I finally had the Starlette Company logo on my uniform. I was excited because I just finished my first show in Company. I could tell that my mom was so proud of me. The rest of my family came to the second show that I had that night. Whenever I see this photo I laugh and smile to myself because it brings back all of the memories I had that night. I can remember it so clearly it's like it was just yesterday. This is a snapshot of me as a Starlette for the first time.

This was on a warm summer day during 2002. It was at Jordan High School. The grass was so green and soft. It was like sitting on a cloud. I remember I loved that year of football. One reason was that it was my first year playing and the other reason is that a lot of my friends were on my team also. I was getting kinda hot with my long socks and all of my pads on.

This picture was taken for football. It was a picture of my whole team. We had the picture tooken for so at the end of the football season we would be able to find old friends. Also just remember all the good times that year.

My feelings were quite odd I was felling like two different fellings that you shouldn't feel at the same time. I was excited and ready to take the picture. But I was also felling nervous and didn't want to take the picture because back then I didn't like taking pictures. I felt a little more comfertable because it was being taken with other people and my friends.

A Snapshot of Me by Alicia Christ

This was the day! I would be moving to Utah forever! I wouldn't be going to grandma's to play everyday. I wouldn't be borrowing the boys' clothes when I have an accident in my pants. I was going to move. I didnt really want to move but mom was having a hard time seeing him... everyday. I wasnt even a year old.

In the picture, my brother is sitting in his superman outfit. He was on the far left side. Sitting next to him was Nick, my cousin, he was the only one in pants and a long sleeved shirt. His shirt was red with little dinosaures on it. His pants were just regular light blue jeans. Next to him was his brother, Zach. He was wearing a cute little blue and green striped outfit. Zach is much shorter then everyone else even though he is the oldest. His short curly hair always looks great! He's deffinately going to be a stud! To the right of him was the most beautiful redneck in the world, ME!!! I was wearing my favorite outfit along with the best cowboy boots ever! The cowboy boots had been passed down between all of us in the picture, however I refused to give them up. They were just the most stylish thing in my closet!

Behind the four of us, was grandma's faded pink house. You could see the next door neighbors plain boring white house. You could also see clothes hanging to dry, and part of the porch. In front of us was a grey, cut every 2 and a half feet, sidewalk. You could see some perfectly greened grass as well.

It was the day i'd say goodbye.

A Snapshot of Me :By George Cowan

We got off the cruise ship on our last stop and landed in Cabo Mexico. We found a small boat company that gave us a tour ride to all the beaches & land formations. After that the boat company took us to one of the main beaches with a cafe called The Office. When we go off the boat all of the merchents surrounded us so we bought some stuff. after we got all of our things we found a nice spot on the beach. A man came up to us and asked if we wanted to ride the banana tube. He said that it cost $40 per person so we finaly decided to do it.

This photo was taken after the ride that lasted at least a half an hour long. We were geting off the tube And we kept falling in the water know one could stand up. we were going to go back on it agian but changed our minds. Insted we went to the cafe to eat lunch before we had to go back on the cruise ship and head home.

When we where on the tube every one was screaming and laughing. I remember my sister almost falling off so she grabed my life vest and pulled her self up. When we got off the tube every one said that i looked scared at first but by the end i didn't want to leave. My six year old cousin fell all the way off and started laughing really hard untill she choked on some water.

"A Snapshot of me" by Courtney Denning

I remember that night like it was yesterday. It was very dark out that night and there was a slight chill in the air caused by a light breeze. With the sound of screaming, talking, and giggling in the background. The smell of corn filled our noses, while the thrilling spook set the mood.

It was Halloween night and we had a huge family get together. All of us had a great time getting lost in the maze made of corn. My grandmother, of course, had a camera glued to her hand and was photographing everyone in her path. My cousins and I soon became victims of this. We all put on a crazy face as she snapped the photo. We each revieved a copy of this photo so we could remember that fun and thrilling night.

I was feeling very happy and loved, as I always do when I am with my family. But that night was filled with even more love, excitement, and happiness than usual. It became a night that each of us would always remember, and one of the greatest nights of my life. That night is one of the strongest memories I have with my family. I wish I could always feel what I felt that night, love, safety, security, excitment, joy. Just a little bit of every emotion. It was one of the best nights of my life.

I remember my cousins and I had the been "scoping for guys" at the moment this photo was taken. We had seperated from the rest of the family and were just goofing off on our own. I remember how we were trying to impress some guys that we thought were cute because we knew we would most likely never see them again. My grandmother quickly noticed us and rushed over to snap the shot. I'm glad she took this photo because it made that night even more special and memorable!

In my snapshot it was during school hours I was in PE .It was really in the gym. But it was picture day at my old school in California. That day I was wearing a Black and pink striped shirt. The background of the picture was a tree with a fountain. So the tree is behind me coming out of the right side of the picture.Behind the tree and me there is a fountain.

The day that the picture was taken all the students were in many long lines. We were all waiting to get are picture taken.I remember that me and my friends were talking .At first we didn't know which pose we were going to choose. but we ended up choosing the pose where are hand was by our ear.I also remember that we would try to make each other laugh so we would come out laughing.

When the picture was taken I was thinking that I better come out good.It was during summer.Outside was really hot .There were months before the end of the school year.

When we were done taking the picture we would have to go outside.Since the gym was cool we wanted to be the last ones to take the picture so we wouldn't have to go outside.

"A snapshot of me" by Quinne Christison

I was a little over a year old when this photograph was taken. We had been at Disneyland all week, so we decided to go to a beach just a short drive from our hotel. The beach was sandy and dirty with twigs and sticks all over in the sand. It was nice and sunny outside with a clear blue sky in the background. It looked simple, like most every other beach in the world. To the right of me there was a man in the sand. My mom told me of the picture since I was too little to remember the event, but my mom doesn't know who the guy is either so it could be my grandpa, my dad, or a complete stranger.

It was my first time ever at the beach so my mom decided to take a picture of me to remember it. I was in my little, pink, frilly barbie swimsuit. My hair was in a pixie, shag type haircut and I had a look of frusteration and dispair on my face. I was covered with sand and lets just say it was rubbing in the wrong places! It was really hot outside and I badly wanted to go in the water, but my mom wouldn't let me go by myself, and being the big girl I was got upset. My mom took a picture because she says the look on my face was priceless to her!

Though I don't remember the event I feel like I was there from the story my mom told me. I can picture myself doing something like that, when I was little I was very defiant of my parents. I wanted to be my own person, I was so little and depended on my parents to take care of me, but I wanted to do things on my own. There I was sitting in the sand hot, upset, and sad. My mom snapped a picture: little miss grown up!
