Snapshot Moment

Snapshot Moment
by: Camille Brantly

The cool salty breeze whistling through my hair as me and my two cousins struck a pose. The course sand in between are toes when we walked to the right spot. You could smell a restaurant on the dock making the classic sea food surprise. Seagulls calling for something swooping down and picking up whatever left overs they could find. We got to the colored arches where my mom took a step back with the camera. We all chose a color “I call yellow!” me and my cousin called at the same time. “Fine! I’ll cover the front.” my other cousin said. Laughter from little kids on the beach filled are ears as we got into position almost falling on top of each other. How could we make this fun? We all thought. As the salty breeze coming from the sea water filled are mouths. Skate boarders riding the rails behind us. The beautiful ocean could be seen for miles as we stared into the distance. The palm trees swaying in the same breeze that was making us sway. Music from a high sky apartment intertwined with the laughter from the beach. My mom snapped the picture, catching a moment in each of our lives that we could hold onto for forever. We all ran to see what had just been taken. We all laughed at the picture on the camera.

Soon we wanted to take another and another we found a rock to stand on. It was cold on are hot feet. We all moved together again hoping not to fall and hit are heads. My mom almost had a great shot when I lost my footing and slipped a little. Quickly we repositioned are selves to fix my mistake. My mom fixed the shot and we were done. The sun was setting onto the ocean. Bright colors like orange, yellow, pink, and red were shooting across the sky. We ran down to get wet thank goodness we took the picture we were soaked. Time for more pictures my cousin called. Leaning up against the dock Anna (the girl in the white jacket in the front of the picture) struck a model pose. Of course it was gorgeous but it was Kate (the one in the yellow shirt) and my turn. We wrapped around the leg of the dock as the water ran in between are toes. Are pants immediately were soaked as a big giant wave caught us off guard and made us slip. Now that we were officially wet to the bone it was time for fun pictures. Barely any sunlight left we did funny poses. The beach was slowly being emptied of all the little kids as the party people came and filled it up. With no sunlight left we left too.

The little ice cream shop was right around the corner next to the jack in the box. We stopped and got the best ice cream in the world it took forever to eat because you savored every bite. Now that I look back that one picture brings up so many great memories. I am so glad they invented the camera. We needed something that can help us keep are chins up when we are down. A camera full of memories is just that something.
