A snapshot of life

A snapshot of life

My snapshot is of my family and I back in the past when everyone would get together for Christmas Eve and we would all have a sleep over and spend Christmas together. I can remember smelling egg rolls, cake, Etc. and believing I was in a 5 star restaurant being served by only the best chefs in the world. I remember seeing presents under the beautiful Christmas tree and Kya bouncing excitedly up and down all around the house because in about a dozen hours we would be opening presents. I also remember hearing old classic Christmas music playing throughout the whole house and everyone chattering excitedly about which presents they hope they got. I remember tasting the sweet taste of hot chocolate with small marshmallows in it. The last thing I remember is feeling the tree and its pines in my hands, and the feeling of the wrapping and bow under my fingers giving way.

My good bye poem

My goodbye poem
Goodbye life goodbye death
This is my first yet very last breath
What am I saying goodbye to?
Is this the sad end or the beautiful start
It’s like I can’t feel the beating of my heart
This I don’t understand or think I ever will
It is as if time is standing still
What am I saying goodbye to?
It seems as if I’m made of air
But people are staring waving and know I’m there
Right now I know that I am dying
Because I can feel and see that my soul is flying
But I do live because I have this feeling of rebirth
And that feeling is what keeps me down to Earth
What am I saying goodbye to?
I know what I now say goodbye to
I say goodbye to neither life nor death
I say goodbye to neither the first or last breath
I say goodbye to the beginning’s end
To the angels and demons no soul to send
What do I say goodbye to?
I say goodbye to the unknown
I say goodbye to the stuff I couldn’t understand
I say........
Goodbye

My family folklore

This past summer I and my family went to Richmond Virginia for my family vacation (well at least for my dad my two sisters and I) and also for my cousin Ryland’s wedding. One of t he crazy things that happened to me on my trip was when I had just gotten off the plane in Maryland and was helping my dad get the luggage when he told me I didn’t need to help him anymore. Well he had the luggage in and it wasn’t right so he tried to fix it and a cop came up and got mad at my dad for taking too long. And my dad said he was sorry that he was taking too long and that he was just waiting for the driver (ryland) and the cop yelled at him and said that he was being a smart mouth and was lying to him. The cop was trying to arrest him and Ryland came to the rescue. I was so relieved that my dad didn’t get arrested. The drive to the hotel took about 3-5 hours because you have to drive all the way from Maryland to Richmond, Virginia. We stayed at a hotel that had two queen size beds, one bathroom, a small TV, and bedside table. There also was a pool outside (that I had packed in my suitcase my favorite swimming suit because I was so excited) that wasn’t ready to be opened yet. (And wouldn’t be for the whole trip). I helped set up the wedding stuff that would be in my aunt and uncle’s (Mark and Sherry) backyard. It was so awesome we also grabbed logs because after the wedding dinner there would be a huge bonfire. There were also some marsh mellows, rope, flashlights, helmets, and swimming suits. The ropes, helmets, swimming suits (if you had some and if you didn’t you were to swim in your clothes), were so you could go to the river right next to the bonfire and swim. This dude named Chaz helped me get down to the river and across it. My cousin Ryland and his wife Megan (the newly married couple that had just had the wedding) were in the water trying to get across and Megan got across all dry (except on her legs of course) and Ryland on the other hand… Well he had slipped on a wet slippery rock and fell inside of the water. He was SOKING wet!!! His facial expression was really funny though. He looked really surprised, and then he looked shocked and lastly confused. The bonfire was really big and we had a contest to see who could get the closest to the fire so that the marshmallow could reach it and so we could make s’mores. I won!!! All the guys had really hairy legs, so when they got to the fire the hairs would accidently light on fire. Another reason that I won was because I couldn’t really feel the heat. And the ride home on the plane was really boring. I guess that’s all for my family folklore.

life's taffy

Life is like saltwater taffy…

Many people get different flavors. And some people like the flavor they have some don’t. There are different choices you have that you can make about your taffy. You can throw it away, cherish the flavor, savor it, or try to change the flavor to one that you like. But one of the saddest things is that some people don’t get to have taffy. Someone could steal someone else’s taffy, and they can also ruin it to.
