A Vacation to Remember by Zach Rogers
By Zach Rogers
One year ago something dreadful happened. I went to Florida! Oh yeah, it was it was supposed to be an innocent family vacation. Then everything went bad. We were going to ride the greatest rollercoaster in the park. It is called THE INCREDIBLE HULK COASTER! This is no ordinary roller coaster. It goes six hundred miles in the air and stays there forever it seems like. You shoot to the peek and… whooooosh your going one thousand miles an hour and then all of a sudden the car flies off the tack and it keeps flying, and flying. And then out of nowhere the ride stops and we were floating in midair. Then we were staring at what seemed to be our last minute together a life ending on a ride. We dropped and landed back on the track and went back to the port were we started.
That was only the first of the vacation. Okay that had to be the scariest coaster I have ever been on or so I thought. I went to the DUELING DRAGONS! And saw the scariest rollercoaster I have ever seen. You ride the dragon of your choice fire or ice and you climb and you climb until you reach the top and then you drop right next to your apposing dragon shooting ice or fire at each other and then you go to the loop and almost hit each other but it pulls up right in time. But you start shooting fire and ice out of the bottom of your dragon and boom fire hits you and you spin off in to a vortex of loops and corkscrews of fire but you recover. And come back with a nasty blow of ice to the face of the fire dragon then he flies right back at you and you are flying for your life. But you are to slow and it catches up to you and fire hits you back and you fly back in to your cave and the passengers get off of the dragon safe and okay.
Alright if I thought that ride was scary I had another thing coming that was nothing compared to the marvel city’s The Amazing Spiderman. Well in this ride the hobgoblin is throwing super charged bomb of destruction at you and you are trying with your life to dodge them while all of his other villan friends are trying to stop you with their powers like electric shocks tsunamis and screams that shatter brains. Well Spiderman is pulling you up in one of his webs and you are hanging there helpless and confused of what the heck is going on and just dangling in mid air. Then the hobgoblin hits you with one of his bombs and well you blow up and the ride is over.
Well that was our fun but very dangerous family vacation. With lots of explosions and shooting of into oblivion fun filled family vacations

My family folklore by Danielle Johnson
My Family FolkloreOne summer day in 2001 my Mom, Nana, 3 cousins, Uncle and Aunt and my half cousin arrived at lagoon at about noon. We bought our tickets and entered the golden gates of Lagoon. It was an awe-inspiring site full of rides and people of all sizes. The eight of us were trying to decide where we should go first. Some wanted to eat at subway and get some sandwiches, some wanted to go on the Pirate Ship ride, but we all decided to start at Dracula’s castle.
As we were waiting in line for 700 hours we decided to have a person in the group go to subway and get us some treats. My Aunt got us 10 gallon Coca-cola flavored icees and some cookies that were at least 34 inches around. Finally after we got in the car for our trip in Dracula’s Castle we started hearing at least 70 screams. Everyone in our group started getting really nervous and I wanted to get out of the ride like how a lobster wants to get out of a pot of boiling water. Our car started and the first thing we saw was a creature that I’ve never seen in my life. There was no way to describe it, only that it had red eyes and about 5 pounds of hair. The rest of the creatures in the ride weren’t scary at all. They were all the usual, Dracula of course, Frankenstein, skeletons, and a few mummies here and there.
When out of the ride we all started heading for the Pirate Ship ride. This line was different than the one before, we only waited for one second. First it started out slow and low to the ground but in a blink of an eye we were as high as the eagles fly. The sights of the mountains were the most beautiful thing on earth. It moved as fast as lightning my hair was blowing in the wind although it was frightening at first it was actually a lot of fun. After 2 hours the ride of speed was finally over.
We all wanted to go to the wet and wild ride of the amusement park, Rattlesnake Rapids. On the way there I was walking right next to my mom when all of a sudden a woman close to me ran into a tree with a bee hive as big as a sasquatch attached to it. A swarm of at least 700 bees came flying out and the biggest one of all came directly towards my face. That bee was at least 40 feet long 20 pounds and his stinger was 50 feet long. Where he stung me is the worst place to ever get stung by a bee that big, in the eye. We rushed right to the first aid building near the entrance with me crying a river in my mom’s arms. The paramedics pulled out the stinger and applied some bee sting medicine on it to calm the puffiness of the wound. After a few quick moments I felt a hundred times better and felt up to stay at Lagoon and go on some great rides.
After going on over 40 rides we were finally ready to head home. We all had such an amazing time while we were there although I did get stung by that frightening bee. Before we left however I went to the exact spot that I was stung and picked up the now dead bee placed it in a plastic baggie I found on the ground and took it home. You might be strange to you that I kept the bee that stung me but it reminds me of that magnificent day at Lagoon.

Family folklore court adams
Family Folklore
By: Court Adams
I am here to tell you about my family and how great there are. This kind of family story is about me and my team winning the state championship in little league football. This will be fun. So stay seated and enjoy.
It was our second year in little league football. We were facing
Next we played East they were the best in the whole league. We got the kick off and we fumbled it was not a good game anyways. But back to the game they got the ball and they scored. The final score of the game was East 45 Murray 12 that was the only game we lost the rest of the season.
Next we will go to the playoff games it was
East gets the kick off and the get to our thirty yard line. The first play they get the ball and of course they score so we are down seven to nothing. We get the ball to the forty yard line. They pitch it to me and of course what do you think happened next yep I scored. It was a forty yard touchdown run. We are all tied up and Chris Beck gets a tackle at the forty but wait there is a fumble and Court Adams gets on the ball and they get the ball back. We score and we win state it was a great feeling that no one could take away from me and my team it was the best thing that has ever happened. The next year after that year we won state the next then after that year we got to the Championship game but that is a whole different story that is the great story of Court Adams and his State Championship.
How my grandpa got his stub finger By Chandler Hendrickson
Chandler Hendrickson
“Hey Grandpa, what happened to your finger?” I asked. He just started to laugh and say “Oh that happened a long time ago.” “Well how did it happen, tell me I really want to know.” He said “Ok, lets get more comfy this is a long story.” We walked into the living room and we sat on the couch. He asked me to get him a drink. So I ran back into the kitchen and I looked in it for a drink. I found one and opened the cupboard and took one. I ran back into the room and I found grandpa and gave him the cup. He started his story. “It all started when I was 18, I was outside mowing the lawn” he continued “I looked down and I saw a rock I thought I let go of the lawn mower handle.” His expression turned to sadness. “I went to pick it up then the lawn mower started going again! I tried to move my hand but I wasn’t fast enough. I pushed the mower back and looked at my hand.” I saw him look down at his hand and his stub finger. He continued his story. “I ran inside with my parents. I was now looking at my hand. Oh I forgot to mention I picked up my piece of finger. I ran inside my hand throbbing with pain!” he looked at his hand again. This time he was rubbing his hand. I was thinking “He must be remembering the pain he had.” He looked up from his hand and started his story once again. “I was screaming with pain my hand hurt so badly. I ran into the room with my parents and they looked at my hand then ran into the kitchen got some ice and stuck my finger that had fallen off into a cup of ice.” He looked down into his cup which had ice in it remembering that sad and painful day. Then he continued his story. Before he started his story I started to look at his finger and how short it was. Right before he started the story I asked “can you still move your finger?” he said “yes” and started to wiggle it a little. I laughed he was looking at me and then he started to laugh. “Well, after they stuck my finger in ice they put me in their car. We drove to the hospital faster then my parents have ever driven before. We got to the hospital, it turns out they couldn’t put it back on but I was able to live with it.” He finished his story and I was about half asleep. I said “Well I always wondered how that happened.” We walked into the kitchen again and then we ate dinner. My grandma walked in and said “So, what did you do today?” Then I told her “Grandpa told me how he lost his finger today.” I went up to her and whispered “I was half asleep when it was over.” We just both laughed grandpa looked at as with a weird look then we stopped laughing.
Well I left their house later that day and told my parents the same story. Well that was how I learned what happened to my grandpa’s finger.
My Family Folklore and Me Getting a New Horse by Amie Dalby
By Amie Dalby
My mom went to go to the convenience store to get some soda for her and her boyfriend at home. My sister Amber was there and she saw her friend from the high school he goes too.
My mom has red hair yet orange at the same time. It’s like an orange and a apple combine. She is short like me, but a little taller like 5’ 2”. She has the most beautiful eyes ever. Her eyes are like as blue as the deep part in the ocean and as sparkling as a diamond in the sunshine.
Amber has had many different varieties of hair only because she dies it so much. But at the time it was reddish brown with red roots. It was short and fried from the straightening she did to her hair. It was fried like a flat French fry being in the oven so much
He was wearing shorts and his leg hair can almost rap around the whole earth. Yes, it’s that long. Amber tells him to het in the back seat of the truck and lay out his legs straight, so my mother would get freaked out.
My mother came out of the convenience store and came to the truck to put the soda in the back seat and she saw the leg and got startled and jumped as high as a rabbit.
They got in the truck and left to come back home. When my mother got home she came straight to me and told me the story I laugh so hard I couldn’t breath, so my heart stopped.
The time I got my new horse
My moms boyfriend asked me if I waned a horse, so he went all the way to Wyoming to get me a horse but then the guy sold him without telling us, so we found a horse in Riverton close by where our other horse stays. We got the horse and he wouldn’t come out of the trailer, it was weird. So the family horse, Jenny, was in heat when we got the two boy horses. So we had to separate them and they are still separated today. But before that happened the horses started to chase Jenny because they know she was a girl and in heat so they were chasing her and she ran straight into the bob wire fence and scraped up her whole chest, yet she kept running. A few days after that event one of the boy horses, Lloyd, (not my horse) tried to jump the fence and cut up his whole chest except this was a worse than Jenny’s because he cut out a huge chunk in his leg and you can see the bone. Yes, it’s that deep. But till this day it is heeling very well. We had the vet come out to the horse and take a look at him and he said that what we were doing was fine and that we didn’t need to do anymore. That it would heel just fine. Then he gave Jenny a birth control shot. Did you know that there was birth control for horses? I didn’t. So the horse that I got is now named Whitesocks because he has a white sock on all four legs.

Future Fantasy By Parker Brock
I married a beautiful girl named Madie Bryant. She’s very beautiful and she loves the area we are living on. She works for a bank and loves her job. Or that’s what she tells me. We met at a friend’s barbeque. And I know he set me up. We started to talk and then we decided to meet again at Café Rio. We talked for over an hour before we noticed the time. After that we met every other day for lunch or dinner. Then after about 3 months I pop the question. And she said she was out of breath. Then she said “yes!” We got married on May 23, 2017 in the Jordan River Temple.
We have one boy named Ely and a girl on the way. We have a few names in mind. Like Emily or Kelsie. We had Ely about 2 years ago. He’s the happiest little boy you could ever meet. He loves camping and loves to go and play sports. He thinks he can beat his cousins at anything. He reminds me a little of my brother. I still love him no matter what he does. He’s just too cute.
We always go to visit the family back in the valley as often as we can. They love when we come to visit because they don’t see us much. So it is nice to see people when you don’t see them that often.
We are planning on building a home in Midway this summer and hope to be finished be the end of September. The home is going to be about 3,900 sq. ft. So it’s going to be big enough to have the whole family over. My neighbors all say they are going to miss having my family around. So that made me feel good to know they care for us.
I’m now starting a project on building a new store in the Murray area sometime next year. So our family is doing just fine. I hope you know you will find just the person for you no matter who you are. Just remember that.
