Life is Like a Cloud by Amie Dalby
Life is like a cloud. You never know which direction it is going to go; up or down? You never know how full of emotion or how dry it could be. It’s nice and fluffy sometimes, but other times it is down and flat. It have its dark times its light times.
My marked moment is when my sister’s best friend died. Let me tell you the story. My sister Amber wanted to have a sleep over with her best friend named Kara. Amber came home after the sleep over and Kara decided to go to a party with her boyfriend well Kara is a good girl, she doesn’t do drugs or anything, so her boyfriend was on mushrooms and tried to talking her into doing something she didn’t want to. So her went to the back room got a gun, while she was talking to a guy friend of hers, and he shot her in the back of the head and the bullet went straight through. She died at exactly 2:00 a.m. on Easter morning.
Once we heard that she got shot we rushed to the hospital to see her but my mother didn’t want me to see her because I guess I wasn’t ready to see something so intense. Amber went to go back in to the hospital room to see her before the nurses pulled the plug on life support. Amber was back in the room for many hours crying over her body. Then we found out that Kara was only breathing because of life support. It was so intense. Every holiday something bad happens. So I made up my mind to try and make every holiday happy, but it is just hard if you have went through as many situations as I have.
My mother asked me if I wanted to go home with her boyfriend since I was starving and very tired at the time and I came right out and said “No I am going to be here for my sister!” So we wound up going home at 11:00 p.m. at night. Sad as can be, yet happy because she lived the best life she could have. When I woke up in my own bed I was still depressed and even before that I suffered from excessive depression but this was worse. I went into my mother’s room still teary and she had some Easter presents laid out on the bed for me to have, it brightened my day a little.
For about a week I had to help my sister get to sleep because I was the only one she could count on and I still am. I didn’t know Kara too much but I knew a little bit about her. The day of the funeral my mother asked me if I wanted to go to the funeral with everybody I said no because I didn’t want to be so sad that I wanted to kill myself. That is what happens when I get really depressed. It was a very depressing Easter.
My Family Folklore by Jacqueline Soweidan

We finally arrived to California! We where on a long, long drive, twelve hours! I was about to hurt everyone one in the car, I was so sick of them! It was all fine now though, we where in Long Beach, California! We where one day away from getting on the cruise! I couldn’t sleep that night I was so excited, nether could my brothers they where up all night playing that stupid game boy!
I finally fell asleep around five in the morning! I couldn’t wait to get on the gigantic ship! We where on our way to the dock where the ship was! My brothers could not stay still, they where so jittery! I was jittery myself! My parents where getting so frustrated with us, but we didn’t care where so excited! Ten more minutes, I kept telling myself calm down we’re almost there, just hold it in!
We where there! I was jumping up and down screaming, my friend that went with us was looking at me like I was from outer space! I asked him “what your not excited?” he just looked at me like I was from outer space still! Let me tell you about my brothers they where worse then me! Sammy was running around in the parking lot my mom kept yelling at him to come back or he will get hit by a car! He didn’t listen, surprise, surprise. Ali was scared the ship would sink but he was still excited! My parents couldn’t handle it anymore, but then they where excited themselves!
We where waiting in line for security to check us! I was about to freak out when I saw the line! It was as long as a never ending rainbow! I am not a very patient person! I kept getting mad at everyone! The security guards where so mean too, we where almost to the front of the line and I couldn’t wait anymore.
We got on the ship! Everyone one went there separate ways, but we all agreed to be at the cabin at six thirty to go to dinner. I didn’t have a watch so I had no idea how I was going to know what time it was. I figured I would just guess, I didn’t care I was on a cruise! My friend and I met up to go explore what there was to do. My brothers went with each other to see what they could do and so did my parents.
My friend and I went to get our swimming suits on to go swimming! We jumped in to the pool! I was about to scream on how cold it was, I was blue! I got out as fast as I could and ran to grab my towel! My mom saw me and started laughing she asked me what was wrong. I told her how the pool was freezing cold and she just kept laughing and laughing, I thought that that was quite rood of her. I just walked away, to go in the sun to dry off, I was looking over the edge of the ship. I saw these things swimming in the ocean and I quickly got my mom to see what they where. She said with excitement “There dolphins!” I jumped up and down and then my whole family came over to see them! I will never for get that day. I will always remember it because of those very beautiful dolphins where jumping up and down too!
Family Foklore 2 Minutes too Far By Dario Jokic

My name is Jake. I know, its a boring name, I figured my parents just got lazy, and name if after their favored fast food place “ Jake in the box”. So pretty much I considered my self as normal, slightly boring, teen, until
I was sitting with my friends and the prettiest girls in school Alex came up to me and said, with the prettiest voice ever “Move”. “What?” I said.
“Move as in go away”. She said. Therefore, I did. Then as thing could not get anymore worse the fattest and the toughest pig Bob came up to me and with his pitch voice I heard him say “Talking to my girl Jack”. “No I was jus…”Just talking to her” he interrupted me. Then out of the blue he tried to hit. However, he did not hit it his hand was just in the air frozen everything was frozen like a painting. Then for some strange reason I grabbed his hand and then time was ticking again in a hurry I punch in the stomach and he was on the ground in one second. Everyone was shocked that a kid like me could hurt take some as big as he. However, it was not were long unit it caught the attention of the principal.
The principal told me to come to his office after school. But for some reason when I came to his office, he was not there, instead it was some one called Mr. Crow. He said that had the same gifts as I, to stop reverse and fast forward into time. He asked me if I wanted to be apart of his alliances of assassin. “Listen boy,” he said, “we all have a different mark. You have the mark of the chosen one. See what happens is that all of us developed our powers in our early twenties, but you are different, you have developed your powers in early age.”
“What does that mean?” I replayed
“You are the one prophesy speaks of-The chosen one.”
Just I as thought I hade found the answer, things got more complicated. The man was wearing the black clock, making his face hard to see, suddenly at the blink of the eye, five more have appeared.” See we are, what we like to call “The elder times” the man said. He gave a choice to join. But the thought of killing some one, made me worried, I just could be able to do it, so I turned him down. I didn’t think my choice matter much, until he took off his clock and, show his angry face. He replied,”I don’t think you under stand, you don’t have a choice, only way to manage your gift, is to become one of us.” I surprised that this men wanted me to be apart of his team nobody ever chose me to be apart of their team. However I turned him down and walked away.
For the next two weeks I learned to control my powers I learned how to, reverse, forward, and stop time. Life became much simpler. For example, if I ever failed a test I would go back in time and mix my mistakes.
But the next day as I was walking down street to my house something weird happen one minute I was on my way home the next I was on the highway. But for some strange reason I could not move my body I was still. I heard a familiar voice say, “Now see what you made me do. If you only joined my alliance then I wouldn’t have to do this.” I then saw him as walked in front of me, it was Mr. Crow.
“Because you don’t want to join us I will have to kill you.” He said.
Then when he was done talking he let me go. Then I quickly got up and ran as fast as I could, but that did not stop him. He quickly restarted time. Then as I tried to run away a car missed by an inch. Then I saw why he got me to the highway it was because he wanted a car to hit me. However for every car that almost hit I would stop time to quickly get out of the away. However that still didn’t stop him kept trying to hit but he kept on missing with every try. I couldn’t take it anymore I saw a near by billboard so I quickly stop time and ran to it as soon as I as on the top of the billboard he was to. But I knew he was going to do this he fell into my trap. I pushed him off the billboard. Then he pulled out his gun and turn to shot me but missed. Then as I looked down I saw him just disappear.
As soon as I got down I found a note I read the note it said:
I can tell you how your dad is.
When I got home my mom was sitting on the coach asked how my day went but I did not answer her. “Mom who is my dad” I asked.
“Oh my I didn’t think it would come to this “she said. “Your dad is what they call an Elder time. You’re one to.” She said. “This is all I will tell and it’s off to bed, your dad is called Mr. Crow.”
My Family Folklore By Tyler Knight
Well where walking threw Disneyland and my dad said “lets go on the fantastic Pirates of the Caribbean“. So we all said that would be way fun. We get over there and the line was as long as like three miles but we still got in the line because we wanted to go on the fantastic Pirates of the Caribbean. The line took forever. Finley we got an the ride but it had a problem so we had to get of for a second. I guess some one pressed the purple button. I don’t know what the purple button did but it made me wait even longer so I didn’t like it. Finley it started working again so we got to ride. It was way weird. The person at the beginning gad big monkey eyes. It was scary because he was looking at me. So we start going and a couple seconds in there was a little hill. It was okay I guess. My Brothers favorite part was when the people in the jail where trying to get the keys from the dog. My moms favorite part was where they where running around and singing. She said that one of the guys feet looked like the they where big foots feet. Just because they where harry not because they where big. That would be weird. My dad like the same thing as me. The big drop of in the middle of the ride but it still wasn’t as big as splash mountain. It was still fun though. The reset of the ride me my brother, dad, and mom where talking about all the scenery. Like the part where it is stormy and the pirate was driving the boat. We said he looked like the skeleton off the terror ride at lagoon. It was funny for some reason. I don’t know why but my dad started laughing. It was way weird but I started laughing at him so it was all good. The rest of the ride after that laughing thing we just talked and made jokes like my brother said nothing ha ha ha. Sorry my brother didn’t really say a joke because he isn’t funny. Well there was a part were we where going up a hill ant there was gold on the side so my dad said “ hey Tyler you know you always want something that cost a lot of money well here’s your chance grab all the gold “ then him my mom and brother stated laughing at me and I said ha ha very funny retard. Well the ride finely ended and we where waiting to get out and my dad put his sun glasses on his head and then land back. Then his glasses fell in so he jumped in after them. Just kidding he didn’t jump in for them but he got mad. So he bought a new pare of hundred dollar pare of glasses and lost htem at lagoons water slide and lost them at the end but that is another story so that is my family folklore.
· Dustin got stabbed
My brother Dustin “again” was with some friends
and they were being boys. They were board and so they decided to get knives and cut card board. When they were done one of the boys they don’t know who, accidently left one of the knives in the couch and it was sticking out one of the cushions. So when my brother went to sit down the knife stabbed him right in the lower part of his back. All of them started to freak out and they didn’t know what to do. They first thought that they should pull out the knife so they did. Well what they didn’t know is that is one of the worst things to do in a situation like this. So Dustin started over bleeding and they called my dad. My dad rushed over there and I came and we rushed Dustin to the hospital. I remember holding Dustin’s hand and having his hand get colder and colder. I was worried about losing my brother. He was pale white and was losing more color in his skin as he lost more and more blood. He was bleeding so much just on the way to the hospital he used up three big towels. They were all drenched with blood. Once we got to the doctors they had to check how far down his wound was. We found out that it was like half a inch to his spine. If it would have it his spine at all he would have been paralyzed. I guess everyone gets lucky sometimes.
· Scary Horse
I went camping about two years ago with my
Uncle Martin at his friends farm. We camped out in a traler in his back yard. We stayed there for about four days. Well one day I was riding one of the horses and they guy who owned him was on with me. We were going really fast and we started to come by the camp sight. I guess the camp startled the horse because it started to buck. It was bucking harder and harder really trying to get us off. I was the first to fall off. I fell right on the ground laying flat on my back. Then the guy fell to right on my on his back. The horse soon stomped right on the mans chest. He started to gasp for air and the horse ran off. Everyone started running over to us to make sure we were okay. They hurried and helped him up and me up. The horse had broken five of his ribs. If the man hadn’t of fallen on me then the horse would of stomped on my chest and killed me. “[
· Dustin’s bike accident
Again my brother Dustin and I promise this is the
last story I have for you. Okay, well my brother and his friends were all riding bikes down this big hill and my brother Dustin was on the side walk. There was a mom pushing her baby in a stroller on the same side walk he was on. So he wasn’t just going to run into her. Before I go any future lets just say this bike was not in the best of shape that Dustin was riding. So he went to go of the side walk on the gutter part that just drops off. He hit and the front wheel of the bike came off and Dustin went front first. The hill was really big so Dustin had speed he was probably going at least twenty miles a hour. So think if you were going that fast and you fell face first what do you think would happen. From the hit being so hard the road cut up his face completely. The road tore up his face on one side. His skin was completely skinned off. He blacked out so he doesn’t remember anything that happened from when he fell to when he was on the hospital bed. His friend Eldon was the first one to get to him. The mom didn’t know what to do but just sit there. She was in such shock! So Eldon tried calling my mom. My mom was at work and so she didn’t have her phone on, and Eldon didn’t have her work number so they didn’t have any way to get a hold of her. They mom with the baby had to end up taking him to the hospital and the hospital finally got a hold of my mom. She showed up and Dustin had to end up getting about thirty stitches in his face from his nose eye and his forehead. He had factored his skull and it took him a whole year to fully recover.

Lots of curious things are happening everyday. Sometimes, people notice them, record them, and tell the stories about them. There’s so many bizarre things that we see happen… People, nature, animals, science, the supernatural all can be oddities. Think of how much that no one is noticing. Think about how much could be happening while you read this. Think about what you aren’t noticing. Think about how much is there to not notice.
My sister, Tiffany, and I went up to
week to stay with our older sister Amber. It was both of ours first time being out of state, and our sister was pumped up to take us around as much as she could manage. We went hiking, took a ferry to an island nearby, went to a block party, street fairs and markets, shopping, canoeing, sea shell collecting, went to a museum, and an aquarium. You name it, she probably dragged us around and did it. Not that I’m complaining, we all had a blast, but it was very tiring.
When we were going out canoeing, we had some time to wait out for the last people to take the canoe to get back. The workers told us we had about an hour. We agreed to take a walk around the forest next to the water, because we had taken a ferry out to the island to go canoeing. Tiffany led us into the woods, and right as we began to get deeper in, she screamed, backed up, pushed me back, and made me fall over a tree root sticking out of the ground. Amber ran up from behind me to find out why she screamed. I saw her face as she saw whatever it was, and she started screaming and freaking out.
By now, I was scrambling to my feet, wanting to get a look at whatever was causing them so much distress. I couldn’t figure out what on earth would freak out both of them so much. Tiffany, I could understand, she’s a bit jumpy, but AMBER? I took a few steps to see what they were making a fuss about. The second I saw it, I felt my jaw hit the ground. Tiffany and Amber were already trying to hurry out of there, but my feet were staying where they were.
About two feet in front of me, a huge snake was choking down a fat beaver. Huge is not an understatement either. This thing had would’ve stretched out at least 7 feet if it hadn’t been coiled up. The beaver was more then half way in the snake’s mouth, and his back legs were still kicking. I saw the snake’s muscles contract and take down another inch of the beaver. I couldn’t watch after that, and bolted back to shore, Amber and Tiffany right in front of me. Tiffany was hyperventilating, because she is absolutely terrified of snakes. I’m almost surprised that she didn’t go into cardiac arrest. We quickly found a park ranger and told him where the snake was. After that, we just sat next to the dock and waited out the last thirty minutes of an hour.
Now that I think about it, I really wish I had brought a camera!
