I Wish I Could Say Goodbye by Orenda Williams

I’ve never tried to say goodbye;

I have only sat

and tried not to cry

Today, I’ll let my thoughts flutter from me

The pain and despair;

I will be shortly in peace

Please hear me say goodbye,

please, please leave here

So you won’t have to watch while I can’t fly

All those nights I lied awake

Body exhausted, mind turning

Sometimes selfish, sometimes for your sake

You will return

but only in thought

while their eyes burn

I’ve been filled with lies about you;

I’ve been looked at with pity

Because I have no clue what is true

I promise I never fake my smiling

but for what I’ve seen

I have no problem lying

I wish I could say goodbye…

Yet until I know what to say it to

I’m holding on for life

I wish I could say goodbye

I don’t want to let go of what I shouldn’t

so just to be safe

I’m holding on for life

Simile Sensation By Tyler Knight

Simile Sensation

Life is like a soccer game. You never know to slow down or to run faster. To pass it or to kick it out of bounds. There are a lot of choices.
Well today is the day after Christmas and I’m going skiing at snowbird with my friends Trevor and Britney and they’re uncle Chip. I woke up kind of early to get ready then Chip picked me and Trevor and Britney. Then we went to get are snowbird passes then we headed up. It took forever to get there but it was fun because we listened to the strongbad album. It was way funny but the whole time up there I could only think that today was going to be way fun because it was only my second time skiing. So we get up there and we get all ready and sense it was only my second time skiing I went on the small hill with Britney and Trevor and Chip went to the top of the peak. I went down the small hill three times before Trevor and Chip made it all the way down. They asked me if I wanted to go to the top of the peak but I said not yet so Britney and me went on the small hill three more times while Trevor and Chip went to the top of the peak and came down. It is about 2:00 and we where all starving and in order to eat you had to go to the top of the peak then go down about half way to eat at the restraint so I said ok I’ll go so we get on the lift and up there it was snowing so I had to use my goggles. So we finely make it up there and get of the lift and started going down the hill to the restraint and it was an easy and smooth ride there. To when I get there I stop and take of my skies and we go inside to eat. We all got some cheesy fries and they where way good. So where done eating so I get my skies on and we start heading down. It was good until we got to these two really step hills that are rite before you get of the lift for the small hill. So I start going down the first hill really slow and on my but. I make it down fine so on the second hill I think I can go a little faster so I stand up and start weaving back and forth but I got going to fast and I’m all most to the end of the hill but then I hit a bump and fall face first and my skies get stuck in the grown. My leg started hurting and my skies didn’t fall off because they weren’t a jested right for me so I start screaming and lucky there was a worker right in front of me so he called one of the sleds down. It took forever for the sled to get there but when it got there they put me on it and I had to go down backwards the rest of the hill while a worker on skies controlled it. It was way scary but when I got down there they asked if I wanted a doctor to help me there and to be driven down the mountain to the hospital. I said the to be driven down the mountain. So we get down there to the hospital and I’m rushed in and they take all my pants and my ski boots of which hurt really bad and they put me in a splint that I stayed in for two weeks. So when I finely get x-ray they find out that I have a tumor in my bone but they ignore it for now. So about two months later I get my cast of and I have surgery about three years later but that’s a different story. So that’s my worst experience ever.

Life is like box full of colors. You feel like one color one day and the other day a different color. Or you just end up with one color you did not want. Life is a surprise.

OUR HAIR

When I was little, my friend and I were bored so we decided to play salon. Well I got all my mom’s hair products so we can play like professionals. So I went first I got a lot of hairspray and started to cut her hair. I didn’t cut too much hair. In my point of view she looked gorgeous. It was my turn and she cut a lot of hair off. I remember that she cut my hair. Kelly got the silver gray scissors and she got the Aussie hairspray. I remember that purple bottle. We were at her house, her mom was sleeping, my mom was at work, and my dad was outside with the car. When we were done playing, we went back in my house and we watched TV. My dad came in and saw that I was half bald. He hurried and called my grandma. We went over n she put me in the tub to wash off all the hairspray and she cut my hair to fix it. My mom came home and told me to take a shower, when I got out she saw my hair she was furious. That’s all I remember.

The Sleepover

My family folklore by: Jessica Holbrook
Here is my story of the sleep over of my family folklore why I was growing up.

One day I and my family moved and we moved into this really noisy, bad town but before we bought the house we didn’t know it was going to be like this at all. But it was a lot of fun we played together and stuff. So we knew them for about two years. And the last year this is my story what happened.

Me and my two sisters and our friends one day and it was three girls about our ages so we invited them over for a sleep over and when they came over it was so fun because we watched movies, ate, played games and believe it or not but we played Barbie’s and board games so those were the games we did play it was a lot of fun.
But once they left we had to clean up our mess and trust me when I say a MESS it was horrible we found drinks and popcorn every were! And since I got the Barbie’s out I had to clean it and I had a lot of Barbie’s. When they went on home we got done cleaning because they helped us clean and then we noticed that a lot of stuff was stolen like my clothes, shoes, and movies, and my favorite my Barbie’s! So we went over to the girl’s house because our mom said we had to go over and just ask nicely and so we asked very nicely and the oldest girl started yelling at my sister saying a bunch of mean stuff.
So my oldest sister started it right back and so the girl that started yelling went into her house and came out with a big thing like a big bucket or a big bowl of boiling water and poured it on my sister and the girls were laughing at her and all she could do is cry.
Me and my other sister started crying cause my sister was being burnt and it was way scary but it was just she was like red not her skin burning off if that’s what you thought. So we all started running home and they chased us and threw a big rock at my sister the one that didn’t get burnt and it hit her in the back.
And all over some stuff they stole.
So when we got home my sisters were crying and hurt and I was just crying and shaking because we were just little girls!
So we went to the hospital to check my sister’s burns, and my other sister’s back and found out my sister and to go to a back Doctor and my other sister had to get a skin treatment done.
I will never forget that day it was really sad and it sucked. That’s why you have to watch for your friends when you have sleep over’s or just trust them that are why we should always make right friends.
Flat Head Lake

Life is like the mountains of Montana, one minute your up on top of the mountain the next you’re plummeting towards the earth. If you take going up slowly and go down really fast then you’re going to have some problems. If you go up and down really fast you’re going to have a lot of problems to deal with. No madder what you do you’re going to have problems.

We stopped in Dillon, Montana. In was colder than the eyes of my grandpa Jim. My three month old Border collie was running up and down in the car. He was running faster than lightning touched the ground. I took him around the circle in the sub-zero weather. It was the darkest night I had ever seen. It was Darker than seeing your own death.

As we pulled up to the hotel we started to skid. A rock as tough as hate popped our tire. After we unloaded our stuff we fell asleep. The next morning I woke up and there was frost all over the bed. The window had been opened in the middle of the night. As soon as I got up the bed sheet broke in half.

We started our way up to the greatest lake ever. It’s so big the moon hides behind the sun. It takes three hours to get around it. As we pulled up to our Aunt Rosemary’s cabin my dog rolled down the window and jumped out. He ran straight to the lake. As he jumped in he did a flip. That splash was bigger than a tidal wave in the middle of Honolulu.

As we left the greatest place in Montana, Shep fell asleep in my lap. On the ride home the car stank like a skunk shooting its musk right up your nose. When we got to the hotel Shep ran up to the room. He pulled so hard he could pull 55 full grown orca whales. As we went in to the room Shep flopped on the floor so hard the hotel shook.

When we got up in the morning Shep was freaking out. We went around Missoula, MT. Then we went to the vortex house twenty miles past Flat Head Lake. There the trees we growing in a tornado shape. There was a house, in the front there was a perfectly level wooden platform. My dad, who is 78in. when I was only 66in., stood on one side I stood on the other and what do you know I was taller than him.

In the house you had to lean. If you stood up it would through you out the window. Trust me I know. After that life long experience we went back to the hotel. Shep had so much fun he didn’t want to play for a full dog year. That week in Montana was crazier that cheese on a donut. Trust me on that one too. That was the best week so far.

My scar

“Life is like a Box of Chocolates” you never know what you’re going to get inside. Some times you get what you don’t like some times you do get what you like. There are many surprises in life. You have to open the box to find out what you’ll get. Lots of us are different. There are plain chocolates, Carmel chocolate, raspberry chocolates. All kinds of chocolates.

. My scar
One day one tragic day me and my sister and some friends were just playing and stuff and we saw this shopping cart and my sister shanee was saying it would be fun if we all took turns riding in it even though my mother said not to but she never listens and so we did it we pushed her and me and Nicole one of the girls were just running with the shopping cart why my sister was being pushed by Amanda in the shopping cart and we were all having fun except I wouldn’t get into the shopping cart because I was deeply afraid and my mother told me not to ever get onto one so I listen to my mom and I think this was the first time I didn’t listen to her. Because my Shanee , Nicole, and Amanda said it was fun and so I wanted to try and I wouldn’t think my mother would of found out. So I tried it and yes I was having fun turning sharp turns and zooming in the road yeah it was fun. Until the tragic happened! So when the second or third time I got into the shopping cart Amanda was pushing me why shanee and Nicole were running with Amanda and Amanda was not being careful at all! So I was yelling saying stop but it was fun though so I really didn’t want to stop but I didn’t want to get hurt I neither so yeah I wanted to get out but I wanted to stay in. but then Amanda was going fast and she turned a really sharp turn and so that’s when the cart was done and flipped and tipped me over. I flew out of the cart and fell over the ditch and skinned my four head on the road and there was glass in the road so glass went into my head. So my sister ran to me and picked me up and I was crying but I couldn’t see because I had so much blood running from my four head down my face so me and my sister ran home and I remember my mom was folding laundry on the couch and when I walked in she started screaming and was saying get in the car so I went to the hospital. I think I was about 5 or 6 when this all happened and yes I had to get stitches but I still tell people to this day that I have never had got stitches before. So that’s why I have a scar on my four head. So that’s why ask for you to be smart, listen to your parents, and when your doing something and feel you shouldn’t or you feel like something bad might happen then STOP! Or you may get hurt like I did and it was not fun.
That is my story about the scar on my four head.

Life is like a kids Halloween bag, full of candy

By: Jacqueline Soweidan

Life is like a kids Halloween bag, full of candy. You don’t always know what you going to get, you may get something sour or something sweet. We have our good times in life and our bad times. Just like our milk chocolate and our dark chocolate. We don’t always know what kind of candy we’ll get out of our candy bag, but we hope for the best. We hope the candy givers give us some sweet candy, just like we hope our family and friends give some good times to remember.

This summer I was eating some wonderful milk chocolate but then at the end of my candy bar there was a big bite of dark chocolate. For my summer vacation I was in Lebanon for five weeks. I had a wonderful time, until we got back. We got back on august twelfth at around three in the morning. We had so many missed calls and messages on our home phone. My mom and me where listening to them. There was this one missed call that changed our lives. The message said “Hi April we are making a good bye banner for Alissa. We where wondering if Sammy wanted to come and sign it, I know you where friends with her mom and wondered if you knew anyone else to call to sign the banner.”

My mom and I looked at each other wondering what she was talking about, we where wondering if they moved or if she went to live with her dad. My mom went and looked it up on Google. There was an article on a newspaper sight. The title said three members of a Murray family where killed in a car accident. I had babysat Alissa and her older brother. We where balling when we read the article. She died along with her brother and her step dad.

The next day came. We went over to there house. Her mom was sitting outside and Mark was playing with his cousins. We went and told Chris (there mom) she was sitting out side thinking. I wish I would have never opened that candy bar. We got out of the car and gave her a hug and told her we where sorry. It was very hard being there, I had memories of babysitting Alissa it was hard not to cry.

We sat there and talked about how we never thought this would happen and about the accident. We all where crying, my brothers where playing with Mark. I kept on eating my chocolate bar, I wish I never would have opened it now I can’t through it away. I wished I would have been able to go to there funeral but I didn’t know about it until we got back form our vacation, and at that time it was to late.

We still are very close with Chris and Mark. We miss them a lot and wish they where here. My candy bag had to have some bad candy. We all want our sweet candy and never the dark chocolate. I had a dark chocolate and it was very tough, but we just keep hoping for the best!
