"A snapshot of me" by: Kaitlyn Byars

There I was standing on that rock acting like I'm flying or as my mo said falling through the air. As I am standing there I can see a clear shot of the ground, as if I was in the motion of falling, behind me is my brother standing the same exact way as me but much ferther up the rock. "Mom look at us" I yell as I stand and smile at my mom, getting ready to take a picture my mom says smile, but too late there I am standing on the rock like I about to fall off of a cliff with a facial expression like I just saw a giant hairy monster. In the picture you can see my brother in the backround looking as if he is picking something up, or as I say "he looks like he is throwing up!!" That day was so hot that I thought I was going to melt away like a ice cream cone, in the back round you can see the red rock like it has been sun burnt from sitting in the sun too long, that day I remembering traveling to South Dakota, in the picture we are somewhere in Evingston Wyoming, and let me tell ya it was hotter than ever.

During the time this picture was taken I was really happy, just knowing that my family was all happy and having a good time made me fell really happy!! In the picture my brothers are doing something, at the time I thought was really cool and wanted to be just like them, so thinking what I was thinking I did what they were doing and thought that it was the coolest thing to do, but even though me and my brothers were acting really wierd and funny, I was still happy and so was everyone in my family. At the time I was thinking "wow how cool am I, I am doing what exactly what my brothers are doing, I must be the coolest sister ever" but that was how it was back then when I always looked up to my brothers, well to admit it I still look up to them now, cause even though they think I am really annoying we all still love each other!

The sight of my and my brothers standing on that rock looking as if we were flying brought a smile on my parents faces, and still does, my parents thought how cute is that my cute little kids are looking like they are flying and look at the looks on thier faces isn't that just cute!

What a beautiful Sunday, summer day, the nicest one I've seen in a while. It wasn't to hot
and it wasn't to cold, it was just right." The perfect day to go to the park" I thought to myself. I was just thrilled that it was a gorgeous day, so that's when I decided to ask my mom, Heather, if we could go to the park. "Yes of course", she said. Anything to get out of the house sounded great to her. But before we go, she said. Let me call my sisters to see if they want to come with us. Okay! I said! I was just the happiest little girl ever!! I mean even though we go to the park about every weekend. It's still exciting! I mean come on??? Who doesn't want to go to the PARK?!?! Especially Liberty Park, because that's the park we were going to! We've always loved that park and we still do! It's a great park. Not only do they have playgrounds, but they have rides, and water to play in, and they have a snack shack to get yummy food! Lastly they have the most exciting thing there ever, the Drum Circle! My family has gone there ever since I can remember, it's like a family tradition that has never been established. Ha-Ha. The Drum Circle was like a place where we'd go to clear our minds, and just sit on the grass and listen to them bang on their drums, and relax. It was wonderful.

Well, back to the Snack Shack, that's the place where some really funny, great, and wonderful times have happened. As I was sitting there, at the table with a discolored umbrella above me, and some ketchup staines from the people before, I could feel the sun beating down on my back, I could just feel the torchering sunburn starting. I was just sitting there, getting a little bored now, when all of a sudden I see this, huge, giant pink fluff ball in the corner of my eye. I turned to see what it was. It was a stick of bright pink cotton candy, and it was for me! YAY! My aunt bought me some cotton candy. As soon as she handed it to me, I started eating it right away! It was delicious, it was the best tasting cotton candy I've ever had! By the time I was half way through, my face was stickier than a cooked marshmallow that got stuck to your fingers after you eat a S'mores.

My family laughed at the sight of my face. It was hilarious! That cotton candy was all over my face. It was a mess! That's when I heard my mom call my name. "Jessica?" She said. I looked over to where she was sitting on the grass with my other two aunts. I looked at her hand to see that she had her camera in her hands. I tried to hide, but she got me! Darn it!! So, now I have this wonderful picture of me, eating cotton candy, with it all over my hands and face.

I'll never forget that day, it was great! Even though, now people get to see me eating cotton candy with it all over! But, oh well, it was worth it, especially since I got to eat it, and I'll never forget how my mom told me that when I saw the cotton candy, my eyes lit up brighter than a million christmas lights!

This was a trip I will never forget. My family goes to Bear Lake every year. While we are there, we take a short hike to Bloomington Lake. This lake is so cold, even in summer, there is a mountain of snow and ice.

This one trip, though, was a little bit different. It was a blazing hot day, and it was getting hard to stand. The cool refreshing water was tempting me. I knew the water would be cold, that's why I thought it would feel better than the scorching sun hitting my body. I think that's why I did what I did.

I wanted to go in, so, for a reason that is now unknown to me, I decided to go out onto the log I that I saw a few feet in front of me. As soon as I went on it, I started having second thoughts, but by then it was too late. As I turned around to head back, I lost my balance. Only then, did I find out just how the water felt. Then, as I was getting out, somebody took this picture of me. Me in my agony from being chilled to the bone from that lake. The lake with the ice-cold water that I, regrettably, fell into.

My brother and I had just finished our meal on this chilly October night. We walked out to our front porch to go trick-or-treating. Of course my mom had the camera and wanted to take pictures of us before we were completely consumed by the excitement of Halloween. Me and my brother were very annoyed by this because we wanted to start trick-or-treating right away.

I have to say I had the coolest costume ever, I was a cheetah and I had a dress with a tail! My brother was a jedi, I thought his costume was rather boring. To me it just looked like a robe, he seemed to like it, so that was ok with me. Well, I thought that as long as my mom was going to be taking pictures I might as well pose. So I did just that, I thought that for sure everyone was jealous!

When this picture was taken I was very excited, not for the picture though. I was excited to strutt down the street and show everyone how great I looked. I was scared of haloween, but didn't want to show it. Sometimes my dad thinks it's funny to scare us, my brother and I did not think that it was very funny. If you look in the window behind us you can see my dad trying to scare us by wearing a mask!

My mom probably took this picture because it explains our family. Me, the diva, my brother, the serious one, and my dad, the funny one. I am glad she took this picture because now that my family looks back at it we all get a good laugh seeing that we haven't really changed!

I got out of my car all happy and cheerful inside, on a nice autumn's day. All because I came back home from the first day of kindergarten. It was kind of cold outside, but I was so happy inside that it felt like summer to me. I walked into my house so anxious for the next day to come. I sat on my soft, black couch relaxing because it felt like I had a very long day. I was telling my mom how my first day was, when I realized my dad coming into the room with a camera in his hand. I'm wearing a jeans dress with pink flowers on it and I'm also wearing pink tights to match flowers. This is a picture of me at home on my couch posing for a memory I will always keep forever. My first day of kindergarten!!

I think that the reason my parents took this picture was so that I can have at least one thing to remember my first day of kindergarten by. My family always takes pictures even for the smallest things. When I was younger I thought this picture a very small thing and not such a big deal, but now that I look back at it, it is a big deal. I never really remembered my first day of kindergarten until I looked at this picture. Just looking at this picture and what I was wearing brings back all the memories.

When I woke up that morning I felt so scared because this was going to be the beginning of everything. The first day went really good. I made new friends and I loved my new teacher, Mrs. Clements. When I got home I was really tired, but I was excited to be home. I was so excited that i couldn't wait until the next day. The picture may not show how excited i was but let me tell you I was really excited.

In the picture you may not see that my parents happy to hear my story of how my first day of kindergarten was, but let me tell you they were. When I was at school, the whole day I was making sure that I didn't get my dress all dirty. I thought that I was a big girl and that I should be responsible. My mom was very happy that I was being "responsible". My first day of school was very fun and I couldn't wait to go back again.

It was late April. A cloudy, dark and grey day at the park . Me and my girlfriend were walking in the field holding hands together, talking and laughing away. No one was around . The grass was green and wet and there was a small chill in the air. She said she was cold so I hugged her tight and shared my warmth with her. I felt something cold hit my head, then another one and another. We both looked up and we found out it was raining. We ran inside the pavilion and I sat down on a bench and she sat down next to me but when she did the table leaned over to her side because one of the legs were uneven and we both laugh.

We were soaked from the rain and our hair dragged down our faces. I remember looking outside to the field and noticing that it was now raining really hard as we watched from the pavilion so we decided to stay longer. I remember hearing the sound of the water crashing down on the roof and the water was dripping down the sides of the pavilion like a small water fall.

We talked for awhile and then I looked at her and she looked at me and we kissed. As soon as our lips touched I could hear the rain stop. We looked outside and saw that the sun was shining and the clouds have cleared. We looked up and saw the sun setting just behind the mountains in the west and the sky was orange with a mix of purple. This photograph is of me and my girlfriend on our first date.

A Snapshot of Me! By: TinaF.

This snap shot of me is a snap of my last day in California. I was about to go on the trip to Cal. in car so me and my friend got to hang out a little before we left. As we were getting ready to leave and as my family(church family always likes to go together so that there is a better chance that we get there safely and carefully)was also getting ready so that we would go at a same time. Like it was my family and 1 other family going it was 2 vans that needed to be loaded so we were all at our Church with other families there to say their goodbyes. We spend a lot of time there with all of them then took pictures.

In this picture of me I am in the church I was talking about. My friend and I were behind the temple in the little class area next to the kitchen. The spot we were in was about the middle. In the background the walls are split colors with more purple than white. Also in the background is a white door and and a white table to the left of it. There is a little square that is a purple door on the bottom of the right wall of the photo and directly above the mini-mini door is a photo of a forest. On the left and in the middle of the two objects on the right wall is a fire safety and a fire extinguisher. Right there in the middle of the room is my friend hugging me in the photo. We are close and smiling like it was nothing that I was leaving.

I remember feeling like it really was nothing wrong going on. I felt a twinge of sadness but most of all I felt excitement to be going on my first road trip. I was so excited that for once we were leaving and were going to be with the family in Utah. I was only a little sad because I was leaving my dad, step-mother, and my very cute little step-sister. I felt as if I wanted to stay but when I thought about how much better it would be to get a new refreshed start and live our lives as if we went through nothing in Cal. I felt better and didn't think about the pain after.
