A lot of boys my age are into their rap or even their country but none of that is for me. My favorite type of music would have to be a mixture of alternative, pop, and indie. Ranging from artist like The Fratellis, Hot Club de Paris, and Catch 22. But overall my favorite song would have to be from artist, Franz Ferdinand, titled, “No you Girls.” It was first featured in the newest iPod touch commercial and has been one of the bands biggest hits since. The song has an upbeat tempo with catchy lyrics putting me into a good mood whenever I listen to it. You could really listen to this song whenever you want but for me it’s when I’m just having fun and everything’s cool.

My partner, Tyler Foss’s, favorite song is, “Chelsea Smiles”, by Bring Me the Horizon. The song also goes along with his favorite genre of music, screamo. You can barely understand the lyrics and he says that’s why he likes it. He says that when he listens to it it makes him feel like he wants to punch a baby in the face? When he listens’s to that kind of music or his favorite song, “Chelsea Smiles”, it reminds him of mosh pits and loud concerts.

Music means a lot to me and I listen to it wherever I go. Cranking the tunes on my pod’s the way I roll. I listen to types of music that not a lot of people do listen to and that’s how I like it. Snapshot Moment by Madie Marsh

Finally! I have been waiting all year for this one moment and it has finally arrived, not quickly I might add. With smiling excited faces we jumped off the plane and hurried into the taxi. What seemed like the slowest car ride ever we finally got to the hotel, “Cancun Palace” which really was like a palace. We could see the ocean the second we checked in and that was all we could think about, the ocean. We threw on our swimming suits and sprinted out the door and down the stairs to the ocean.

I looked at my sisters faces and that look said it all. They were a happy as can be, as was I.The look on my parents looked extremely happy to see our family together once again, which doesn’t happen very often. My family was so happy to be out of freezing Utah and into warm 90 degree weather in Cancun. The ocean was such a beautiful sight to see, they way they crushed the surface for the few seconds they had. It was like everything was in its perfect spot just waiting for my family and I to greet them.

Cancun Palace was a perfect choice for my family and I because it was all inclusive, which means umlimited strawberry colada’s! I had missed the sweet taste of the strawberry coconut running down my throught in delightment. The taste was like nothing I have ever tasted, it was one of kind. I knew there would be a lot more where this came from, especiallty with my dad around! I couldn’t believe all of this was happening to me. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

When you think of the ocean, you think of the sounds it makes. One sound that you almost always hear is the sound of the seagulls cawing in the distance. Which is exactly what I heard! The birds made me feel like I was home again, seeing as it had been two years since I had left the beautiful beach. The sound of the waves crushing against the beach floor was just a reminder of how excited I was to be here! After walking for a few miles on the incredible beach I became immune to it. I never wanted to return home to Utah, even though I missed my friends a lot!

All of these senses led up to my favorite picture of all time, and that is the picture of my sisters and me. Not only do I love it because it shows our excitement, but that is was just the face that we were all together in this beautiful place. I still don’t know how it turned out to look so good. We are all the same height, same pose, same everything! My mom was very excited when she saw the end result of her beautiful daughters. That moment in time was one of the most treasured moments of my entire 14 years of life. What I would give to go back to spring break 2009 in Cancun, Mexico. At least I will always have the memories and of coarse my favorite picture!

My song is probably different the most everybody else’s song. It is a very loud song and it means a lot to me. My song is Chelsea Smile by bring me the horizon it means a lot to me because it just pumps me up. It gets me ready to do any thing no matter what it is. Plus the words like “ I got a secret” makes a lot of sense to me because I have had to keep a secret before so it just is a really important song and I will always like it.
My friend Jamal’s favorite song is whisper by Seether it was originally done by George Michael Wham. It makes it feel like he can just express his feelings no matter what. The lyrics remind him of his cousin. He likes to listen to it all of the time no matter what is going on in his life.
Music really means a lot to me it can really change my whole attitude to something. Or it can just make me happy know matter what I am feeling. It can even pump me up when I am scared or not ready to do something. All I know is music is really important to me and I will always listen to it.

Snapshot Memory by Callie Johnson

In this snapshot photo of mine, it is a picture of me and my cousin, Mackenzie. She was walking in front of me and I was right behind her following every step she took. I believe my mom took it, because the whole time our family was on the beach, she was running around with the camera taking pictures of everything possible. In this picture, I was at the beach in Maine. It’s called York Beach. My Dad’s family is from back east so we went on vacation up there. We actually stayed in New Hampshire with my family around August, it was summer, and right before school started. In the picture me and Mackenzie are walking on the beach. Not the plain sandy part, but the part where it’s right where the sand meets the water. Before this picture was taken, all we were doing was running along the beach and enjoying the moment. After the picture was taken, we just kept walking along the beach and running into the waves and letting them crash up against you. It felt like a movie moment, when everything was set up right and the moment feels flawless.

During the time, I was mostly focusing on keeping my eye on my Cousin. Also, I was looking at the endless waves come crashing in to the beach. It was a really pretty scene. The ocean went out as far as it could go, from the end of that it just looked like the end of the world. There were a quite a few people at the beach; it was a perfect day to go. There were kids running around and parents chasing after them. Others just going out as far in the ocean as they could.

My mouth had spots of salt-tasting water. It tasted like ocean water, which isn’t the best taste in the world. There were kids laughing, seagulls screeched out into the sky. The waves made crashing sounds, they were never ending waves. There was all sorts of sounds just coming from the beach and people. The air was filled with the smell of ocean. You know… like sand and ocean water, fish, and salt. There were stores and places you could eat all along the other side of the beach, and you could smell the freshly cooked food running through nose.

When I was walking through the sand, the tiny grains of watery sand slipped through my toes and over my foot, with every step I took the water would fill in the foot print I had made. The sand would stick to me until I washed it away. They were like tiny little beads just rushing over my feet; the squishy sand was a cool feeling. The water would rush up over my legs and try to reach as far as the waves could push it. With every step I took water splashed up from under my foot and splashed out.

There were rocks and seashells in the sand, some soft and some hard. There was also seaweed. The feeling of seaweed is slimy and rough. It grabs a hold of your leg and never let go. This picture has a lot of meaning to me and I want to keep the memories with me forever.

When I hear the word music I think of true art, And the first song that comes to mind is Careless whisper by Seether it is originally made by George Michael. This song is originally like a jazz song but the band Seether made it into a rock song when I listen to it I feel open so I decide to express my feelings, but yet I feel guilty. My favorite part is when the singer quotes “Guilty feet have got no rhythm” When I hear this song it brings back the memory of when I was sitting in the passenger seat in my cousin’s truck just rocking out to the new song we heard on the radio. This song is a great song and I would just enjoy to hear it every chance I get. This is a good song for me.

My partner’s song he chose was No you girls by Franz Ferdinand His style of music is rock, alternative, Pop, and Indie When Cooper hears this song it brings back the memory of him seeing that song featured on an I pod commercial. This song helps cooper feel good. This song makes cooper feel good because it has an upbeat rhythm. Cooper likes to hear this song when He is in a good mood.

I think the true reason why I like this song is because the guitar the way it is played just speaks to me in many ways that I am attracted to. I think this song picked me than I picked it. I am truly in love with this song.

The day I took this photograph was the day of my boyfriends birthday, the forth of July. We were getting ready to go to the parade, and we usually never take pictures together and she wanted to do my make up so she did. We went in out backyard so she could smoke... I don't really like that, but its her choice. Anyways, she was like "Baby Noodle we never take pictures together, and I want to take one with you." We ended up take a ton with each other. I loved it so much I got to spend the whole day with her. This picture just happened to be my favorite that we took. Its fun, and just out there. I love her and miss her a lot! I wish she never moved out, because now I get to spend no time with her at all! But hey life goes on. I look up to her, she is my inspiration when it comes to succeeding in what i want.

When I was with her that day I saw my sisters beautiful face, and the bright blue sky. It was one of the prettiest days I have ever seen. I also saw my red camera in front of the sky when we were taking the pictures. I tasted waffles and eggs from our breakfast. It was delicious! my grandpa loves to cook so he makes us all sorts of food for breakfast. Its great, I love it! I heard the birds, and our laughter. I heard the sound of my dogs barking, wanting to play and go to the park. I knew that was going to be a good day for me. I got to spend it with the people I love most in my life, and I'm not going to lie i do love my sister more then i love anyone in my family... But we will keep that to ourselves okay? Ha ha. On that day i smelled my sisters lucky bear perfume, and the nice warm hair blowing, and my strawberry shampoo blowing in the wind! All those smells are incredible! Ha ha ha. When we were taking the pictures i felt her arm up against my body. Ha ha and then after the picture she gave me a hug. That was the first time I didn't have to ask for a hug from her, she just hugged me. She told me she loved spending the time she did with me, and i told her that it needs to happen more often! She agreed and after that we were so close. We did mostly everything together. The only thing we didn't do together is hang out with friends, because we have different friends ha ha ha. But now that she moved out we aren't really close anymore. I don't like it but she is loving living on her own, so i don't want to make her feel bad. So I just don't say anything...

That same day i got to go to fireworks with all my friends at Murray park. I didn't get to go with my boyfriend though! I really wanted to take him but i couldn'tI a, because it was his birthday and he had to spend that with his family. but hopefully i can take him this year. If its okay with his dad. It probably will be okay with him. m extremly excited for this summer! I get to spend time with my sister Brandi, and my boyfriend Keigan. Ms. Lafortune mostly likely knows Keigan. Ha ha ha ha. Anyways, i just love spending time with my Brandi. She is just so much fun to be with, and we always know what to do. We never get bored, because we always have something planned. My sister is THE best sister anyone could ever want. The coolest part is she is a sister that actually wants to hang out with her younger sister! Not a lot of sisters are like that.
