Life is like a roller coaster

By Kaitie Woodmansee

---- Life is like a roller coaster. Life will throw whatever challenges it has for you. It has its ups and downs that in the end make you stronger and smarter than many other people. Life wasn't meant to be perfect and we know it. It may be a bumpy ride, but everyone will pull through till the end.----

My sixth grade year was exactly like a rollercoaster. In that year I had fourteen funerals between family and friends. We would just get over a funeral and then figure out that we have another one the next day. One of the most challenging times was when my cousin died. His name was Mike Penovich and he was the fire chief of saratoga springs. He was on his way to pick up a brand new fire truck one morning when all of a sudden his truck swerved out of control and his whole truck dove head first off the cliff and into the resivior below. His entire front car was smashed and so was he. It took them a long time to get him out of the truck and into the ambulance. They thought that he might have a chance but when they got him out, it was already to late. Me and my siblings were heading home from acting when we found our mom crying on the couch. We asked her what was wrong and she told us the unfortunate story. None of us could beleive what happened. It was another funeral but one that was most unexpected. The rest of that day was filled with a ton of sadness.

The day had come, it was mikes funeral. I dont ever want to experience something like that again. Everyone was crying. There was noone in sight that was smiling or laughing with each other. That day was one of the longest days I have ever expirienced in my life. But that year made me as strong as I am today.
