"Family Folklore" by Edelweiss Torres

I was going to Bear Lake with my family about five years ago. In the summer of course. My family (Mom, dad, sister, and I) my friend/babysitter, my dog, and my dad's friend and wife went with us as well. We were planning on camping, swimming and roasting marshmallows.

On the last day we were there we decided to rent a waverunner and go to the lake and have some fun. I played in the sand and made sandcastles. My dad took my sister, my friend, and me on rides on the waverunner. My mom was just relaxing in the sun. My dad's friend and his friend's wife were taking turn on the wave runners as well, and they were just sitting in the sun as well. As for my dog, I think she was just sitting with my mom.

It got closer to leaving so we were getting our last rides on the waverunner. The last ride was my dad's friend's wife, my sister and my friend. Right as soon as they left a giant storm started to stir up! The wind was blowing so hard it was like a fan that was switched from low to high! Then it started hailing! The hail was the size of grapefruits! If you got hit by one you would've been knocked out by it. We started freaking out because with the wind, and the hail it was going to ruin everything that we had out. And my sister, my friend, and my dad's friend's wife were out in the lake during this really bad storm!! We started packing up and getting in the car. My dad got somebody that worked at Bear Lake to help look for our missing friends and family. They said that it was too dangerous because during a bad storm the Bear Lake Monster comes out and eats whatever is on top of the water.

We eventually found my sister, friend, and my dad's friend's wife with another family holding each other for warmth. (Since it was so cold.) They were a little freaked out, but they were safe and nothing happend to them. Luckily they didn't get eaten by the Bear Lake Monster. Whew. We left as soon as possible to get home.
