"Family Folkore" by Kathrine Montanares

My family was still living in Norway and it was winter. We had boughten a sled earlier in that week and we just had to go and pick it up. My mom was busy and so she asked my 3 brothers if they could go and pick it up. My brothers were very young they were 3, 6, and 7. To get to the store they had to go down a hill and cross a metal bridge.



Since they are little boys you never know what they are going to do, but niether do they! As they were walking down the hill they suddenly heard something running and they thought it was just a harmless animal walking back to the forest. Well it turns out they were right about the animal but it was not a harmless one! All of a sudden a fox jumps out in front of them and attacks them!!!! And he starts bitting and ripping their clothes and my brothers are fighters so there was no way they were going to loose this fight. So they all get together and start fighting the fox until it runs away. After they had beaten the fox they walked down the hill with pride.

After they were done walking down the hill, it was time to cross the bridge. As they were walking down the bridge my 6 year old brother got a little thirsty and decided to lick the bridge. Well, you can already notice there is something dumb about that. So he takes a lick at the bridge and all of a sudden my brother hears a weird sound and turns around and sees my brothers tongue stuck on the bridge! My 7 year old brother starts to think of movies that he has seen, so he would know what to do, so he tells my brother to hold his head back when he tells him to. So he tells him to hold his head back and right when he holds it back my brother makes his hand as straight and as tight as he could and karate chops my brothers tongue off the bridge! And then my brother starts screaming his head off!

Once he was done screaming they took a look at the bridge and see the tip of my brothers tongue on there!! So my 7 year old brother tells him to run back home and tell mom. So he runs back to show my mom. Then my mom takes him to my neighbors, he was a doctor, and he fixes his tongue! But the bad thing about that is that he couldn't eat for two weeks!
