"Family Folklore" By Emily Sessions

The greatest trip ever. One summer me and my cousins were going camping. All day we caught huge lizards as long as a car and as big as a dinosaur. By the end of the day we caught so many they wouldn't fit in our tents. Our parents noticed so we had to let them all go.
The last one we let go was the biggest one of them all. As we were letting it go it came back at us with such force and its sharp teeth. We ran as fast as we could ,but one of my friends could not run as fast as the rest of us. And the big lizard got her we ran to the trailers and got the biggest gun we could find and began shooting. It's guts flying everywhere I was going to be sick. After a while we all stop ed shooting and it was silent. It was dead.
The next day we followed a near by river where we were camping. We walked along the river for a very long time but we stopped because of something we noticed. Along the river was a huge bus as big as my house that was half way in the ground from a flood long ago. As we went forward to look at the bus we started to sink into the ground.
We looked down and we saw our selves sinking in mud it was so deep it was like five feet. We struggled to get on the bank of the river. When we were all out we went to a different part of the river to wash are selves off. We never went back there again but it was a great adventure for us all. And that became the greatest camping trip ever.
