"Family Folklore" By:Silvana Huerta

The Taxi Accident

I had just been born in a hospital in Peru, and I was driving home in a taxi with my parents. The taxi was huge! Almost like a limousine, except it was yellow! There was a huge flat screen on the inside, right next to the soda machine! There was even a play place for newborn babies! It was a great ride home! The limousine was so amazing, that it was filled with magic! Suddenly, I grew into a toddler! I turned 3 years old in only a matter of 3 minutes! The taxi truly was magic!

The taxi/limousine driver was perfectly fine. He was even humming show tunes! His name was George, and he was a billionaire! He owned the biggest house in all of Peru. He had 10 dogs, 10 cats, and even 10 cows! He owned his own jet, and had many servants! He was living the life, who knows why he wanted to be a taxi driver! It was an interesting mystery that would never be solved.

We were almost to my house when it happened. Right as we turned the corner, a drunk driver smashed the side of our car. The taxi went flying 19 feet in the air! We must've done at least 10 flips. We were rolling inside the car down the streets of Peru. Knocking everything and everyone down on the way. It was almost like a nonstop tornado! As the car was turning and flipping everywhere I got one last glace of the taxi driver, before he died. George hadn't been wearing his seat belt, so one of of the turns, he couldn't stay any longer. He flew through the window like a jet, and landed on the streets.

After what seemed like forever, the car finally landed on its top. My dad, being the strong courageous person he is, was the first one to gain consciousness. He got me first and handed me to my mom. My mom, being the over protective person she is, held me tight to her chest, and only cared for me. Suddenly, I heard a loud crash! My dad had broken the glass window with his stone elbow! The glass scattered everywhere. Onto the streets, and on the inside of the car. He was the first to get out, and not caring if he hurt himself, he stuck his hand in through the small hole to grab me. After he got me out, he got my mom out.

Everything was a huge commotion afterwards! There were police everywhere making sure we were all alright. Suddenly, something shiny sparkled, it was my dad. He acted so much like a really hero, that he shone as bright as the sun. Everyone had to put on glasses in order to look at him, and even then they couldn't completely stare right at him since he shone so bright. His skin sparkled in the light, and he was the most beautiful thing anyone had ever seen. With just one touch of his hand on my mom's and my head, we were healed from all of our cuts. It looked as if nothing had happened. After my dad realized the new power he had, he went towards George and brought him back to life as well. That day, a hero was born. Everyone knew my dad as the Shiner, the bravest of them all.

THE END
