Life is full of games. Any event, major or minor, is another contest in your life. Generally games aren’t planned in life. You always have to be ready to hit the ball back, because you’re never going to know when it’s going to be thrown at you. The only way to win games in your life is to maintain attitude.
When you get in a fight with your mom or sibling, you feel like you’ve lost something. Well you have lost something, you lost the game. The second you begin to fight, that’s when you lose. Instead of staying with a positive attitude, you were a sore loser and your record of that lose is the damage on that relationship. When you think back to that game, you’ll be angry, sad, and partially ashamed you didn’t play better.
Winning at life is very easy to do. Simply face things with a smile. Once you begin to win at some games, it’ll be easier to win them all. The goal of life is to be happy, and enjoy the ride while you’re on it. For every single game you win, you’ll achieve that goal until the next game. You’ll get what you deserve as long as you play, so you better play well.
Not every game is easy, and you won’t always be prepared to win the hard ones. You might be tired, in a sickly mood, have a headache, other games going on at the same time and pile all of that on top of other teams cheating, being snotty, rude, or underhanded. You can’t always win, but sometimes you can make the loss easier by accepting it and dealing with it in a way that you know won’t weigh you down later. You’ll leave with a heavy heart, but its better then leaving with an angry one.
Whenever I think about the difficult games I played, I always think to myself how I could’ve made it better. The little things about my attitude that I didn’t want to bother with then. If I could go back and take a different point on things, have a better attitude that didn’t threaten the opposing team… well my records now wouldn’t be as bad as they are. It’s hard to pull out of the moment when your enemy is distracting you with fickle things to get you going. You don’t have to be so passionate about the bad games, you can simply play them, and pass on them. Even if you don’t win you won’t have the bad memories of injustice you might have felt. It’s never good to feel wronged.
If you want to win, play hard. Play with the whole team and play in a good mood. If you want to lose, stay in your bad mood. Life is a game and that isn’t changing anytime soon. A record can never hold back your skills, so focus on the game you’re playing. If you don’t care if you win or lose, good for you… But everyone else sees only the points.
