The song I chose was Far Away by Nickelback. This song makes me feel sad, but happy all together at the same time. it's like that half laughing half crying feeling that happens sometimes when your sad, but happy at the same time because everything turns out good in the end. I chose this song because it's good and it has a good message in it. It tells you that even if you lose someone close to you that it will be okay and that it isn't the last time you will see them. I can relate to this song because I know the feeling that you get when someone you love or care about a lot leaves and you have to worry if they're safe or if you'll ever see them again.

Alex's song was Hanging by a moment by Lifehouse. The genre of her song is rock. Alex likes this song because it makes her feel good and it has a good meaning in it. One of her favorite lines in the song is "letting go of all I've held on to." When Alex hears this song she thinks of letting go of the past and looking forward to the future. She feels like she can trust her friends when she hears of this song.

Songs are similar in many ways, they all have a certain theme or message that they are trying to tell you in the music. Some are sad, some are happy but they all tell you something important that the artist wants you to know about. Me and alex's songs were similar to each other because they both kind of gave you the message of letting go of the past. It's hard to let go of the past sometimes if something traggic or sad happened to you or someone you loved, but how can you move on with your life if you aren't living in the moment?
